I can't stand forward controls on a motorcycle! I test rode and actually liked riding the Low Rider model but it still wasn't as comfortable as my Ulysses! But then again no motorcycle is that I've ever ridden! |

That's a lot of potential rear end collisions, isn't it? |

Oh yeah, Davidson motorcycles, they made those Harley Davidson Blasts that I see on Craigslist all the time. |

That's a lot of potential rear end collisions, isn't it? Some people like that sort of thing (not that there's anything wrong with that). Just ask BMW riders; they've had ABS for a long time. |

My riding buddy shows up for our labor day ride on a spanking new 2017 ultra limited in black hills gold and black. traded in his 2014 ultra limited that had about 15K on it. Couldn't help himself. He is the classic splurge buyer. Nice bike though. Sounds different than the previous. He had screaming eagle slip-ons. No tuner yet. Motor definately shakes less at idle; hardly at all. Heads are much more rounded looking. He says it rides a little smoother, but admits that could be wishful thinking. |

It rides quite a bit smoother. And it better, since they are counterbalanced now. I've set up and ridden 4 of the 107s- a RoadGlide, Roadking, and 2 StreetGlides. The new motors are very cozy. The bottom end torque is amazing too. 90% of the torque just off idle. |

Still just another face in the crowd bike. Doesn't make me regret my Indian purchase at all.... |

I got to test ride various Victory Cross Country models and a Road Glide and a Street Glide, all 2017's, yesterday. ON PAPER, the Victory should be a better bike. HD's get ridiculed for being old-tech, etc. But riding the bikes back to back is eye opening. The ride experience, specifically engine performance, is HD all the way. The Victory engine never seems happy, you are either lugging it or over revving it, and the bike shakes either way, not buzzy but noticeable. It seems to be geared too tall in any gear. The Handlebars shake, the floorboards shake, the mirror are blurred all the time. I rode some with their "stage 2" kit and they were smoother and revved a little faster. The new Milwaukee 8 is butter smooth, at any rpm. Crystal clear mirrors most at all times. Even idling it does not shake that much. The gearing is shorter, it pulls harder than the Victory in any gear. If I bought one I would keep it STOCK, the performance is that good, and the stock pipes are surprisingly loud. The Victory does have its charms (value, reliability (per consumer reports),lower/easier maintenance requirements, storage capacity, roomier ergonomics) but it is in a word, un-refined, it still has too many rough edges, specifically engine wise. The HD's, especially the Street Glide, clicked with me, and would be my choice. Add all the intangibles (the HD dealer ecosystem, HOG, aftermarket, etc) and it becomes clear why many others think so too. AX, where are you..... The Mil 8 really makes me feel better about buying a new street glide but I am not sure it will happen. I have also ridden the cross country. Like the X1 versions or the Ness Version. I had a nice ride with it and felt like floating down the road. The X1 was a joy to ride later as I felt more connected to the road again. The Buell stays and might not have a Harley near it. |
