WV Buell Rally #9.1 When: August 11th to the 14Th Where: Northbend State Park Cokely Campground overflow camping (Up on that there hill again) Why: I miss you guys and gals If everyone ponies up $20 bucks, it should cover the campground, firewood, some beer and some snacks If you are gonna camp, I've got the campground reserved. Damn, it's the same dates as the Great Taste of the Mid West Beer festival and I already have tickets! I even promised I would drive. Oh well, next year I guess!  | ||

Although it breaks my heart to say this, I don't think I'm going to be able to make the Rally. I haven't given up quite yet, but I honestly don't think I'll have the Roadster back up and running in time and I don't trust the Corny to make the whole trip. The last thing I want is to have another breakdown on the road. This could all change, and if I can possibly be there, I will be (there's still a chance it'll happen), but I'm just trying to prepare myself for the disappointment of not being able to go. | ||

Vern, you just reminded me of our trip to Daytona. You pulled over and said you have a light out... In my mind I was "Really, we are going to play this game"... Then you said you weren't joking and my low beam was toast. I believe it was O'Reilly's we stopped at for some roadside repairs. Good times! | ||

The Pulled Pork alone is worth the trip to West Virginia. If you've never been to this Rally, you're really missing something. I've still got my fingers crossed; I'm doing everything I can to be there. Though I don't think I'll have a cheap suit to wear. | ||

I'd love to be good company, but Ann and I, due to unforeseen difficulties, won't be able to make it up. If it were in my control, we'd be ready as ever to make the trip, Vern was more than willing to make all this happen, Thanks Vern! But I've had a few set backs, and it means we'll not be making it. Maybe one day, but not this go round. Maybe I'll make one of those "pity party" threads, but probably not, it's not really my style. Know this though, y'all are in our hearts, and we'll be there in spirit! Thanks Vern, for the more than gracious offer to haul my ass up there, and thanks Mark for the invite, and everything. My memory is failing me, which is more than just annoying. If I do remember something, I can't just "go with it" as in more than a few times, what I remember, ain't real. The aphasia has gotten worse a few times, but so far has gotten better as the day goes on. So...how about some new tests, and another doctor...YAY! I'm sad to leave y'all without a Glitch, but that's just the way it is right now. Party on dudes! | ||

Glitch I sent you an email. Sorry to hear about your complications. Sure would have been great if it could have happened! By total coincidence I don't believe I can make it either. A few jobs short of a contract completion, my main man left my employ. That means I have to take up his part with my part, and now that it is nearing it's end, the customer is in a hurry. This means I will be buried under rush work for the next few weeks. Don't ever think that self employed means that you can do what you want when you want. Sure there are some freedoms, but planning to attend an event a couple months out is always tough, might get a weekend off now and again, but that won't usually be known until the weekend that you are off. | ||

Dave,Ann and Vern you guys will be missed more than you know. I just got off the phone with the folks. Both of them asked about "Crusty". Judy said she was going to be bummed if you weren't able to make it. Dad said he was looking forward to talking to you about all the places you have been Your Judy postcard campaign has put a lot of smiles on at least two faces that I know of. | ||

I can't say yes or no right now. I have to register the Roadster tomorrow, and I don't know how much that's going to cost. Also, I don't know how much the shop is going to charge me. Plus, I think there's enough tread left on the rear tire to make the rally and back, but I wouldn't bet money on that. If it's at all possible, I will be there. I'll know more tomorrow night, and will post here about it. My friend Dondi said she was going to burn some incense and sacrifice a chicken for me... or was that sacrifice some incense and burn a chicken? In any event, I'm doing my best to be there. |
