I just bought one of those. Less than ten bucks and the picture is surprisingly sharp and clear. Just be careful of the software that comes with it, there's like four choices that come with it and one of them is malware. |

Read the 1 star reviews on Amazon before you buy. Not saying don't buy one, but know what you're getting. |

IMO, it would have to be pretty bad to be a bad deal. I was wishing I had one just this morning to take a peak at a lawn mower I was working on. Wondering if it's worth investing in a new magneto. |

They are all over ebay for short money. I have one with a 15'cord and a LED light on the end of it. It has a micro USB plug for my phone and view it via an app. Works killer and it was under 20 bucks shipped. |

I have one from Harbor Freight that has a 2.x" viewscreen and a 2 meter cable. This one looks smaller which means more places you can use it. I will most likely get one of these, so thanks for the "heads up". It's just a cell phone camera on a cable, zero fiber-optic. I also have a couple of old(10-15yr) medical fiber optics but these new options are quickly passing that quality. Z |

Resisted the first time, but I cracked and just bought this. It's the kind of tool you need at 11pm on a Saturday so you can see enough to know enough to be able to sleep that night. That's worth $20. |

I need one small enough to go in through a spark plug hole, and twist sideways to see things like valves and cylinder walls. |

I did some searching and came back to the one Midknyte originally linked. Here were my factors I took into account 1) Price (this is a cool toy that I may or may not actually need someday) 2) Connector (plug into laptop or android phone, I wanted laptop which is the more common more flexible connector) 3) Head size. Smaller is better, some are pretty big, and too big could be a total show stopper for something like a spark plug hole. 4) Resolution (some are only 640x480, which is small, some claim to be 1024x768, but are probably really just lower resolution sensors with garbage interpolation pixels added to pretend its higher resolution when it is really just extra useless pixels with no quality increase, this is really common on cheap import video stuff right now) 5) Mirrors and accessories to see at right angles. 6) Minimum focus distance The one linked may not be perfect (it could take weeks of analysis to find the best), but it was solid in every category. For what that's worth... |

I have the hand held Harbor Freight borescope with screen. It's great, and worth every penny and more. It fits nicely through a spark plug hole. I used it just last night to inspect an old motorcycle engine I bought on eBay. Highly recommended. It also comes with a mirror for right angle viewing and a hook for retrieving lost items. |

Cool! I figured the hook was to hold it in position or something. Duh. Of course it would be awesome for retrieving! |

Oh they are very useful, I used my medical optics when I dropped a shim in my 1125 motor. 2 1/2 days later I found it where it would have grenaded the motor had I tried a rotation...

I once worked with a guy who dated a shim, had him questioning his sexuality. Glad he decided being a shim wasn't for him. |
