We've got our reservations at Skyline. I've got a number of major events going on at the moment that aren't totally in my control though. Hope to have it worked out by then. Getting my house on the market this week. Need to find a new place to call home up by the family compound in Michigan. We're about a month behind where we wanted to be due to issues out of my control. STRESS!!! I'll NEED a vacation by then! | ||

Just got my Beemer back from Vern today... forgot how much I love that bike, even better with the freshly painted and beautifully mounted "new" Wixom fairing! Rolled 80-90 up the highway to work this evening, no prob! THAT's the bike I'd love to take back up the BRP, easy goin at 50MPH... I'll be thinking about it... Matthew, are you gonna make the trip? I'll need you to hook me up with your T-shirt guy. $10 is a heck of a lot better than what we laid out for GB2 shirts, although the printing on the sleeve is what added almost $15 per shirt. I'm really looking forward to this, I haven't been on the bike since before my heart surgery. | ||

Vern- schedules were made to be slipped.  Well, Crusty, I was really hoping you'd make it. Maybe next year. Or you could always reschedule your ticker appointment...  Mark- I'm WAY overdue to make it up to your meet. I doubt it'll happen this year but I'm almost certain I'll be there next year! | ||

Yes, first one however I have been to Little Switzerland several times. Had lunch at the lodge there also. I'm familiar with the roads off the parkway too. The flat spots on the Harley frame can document that!  | ||

Yeah Hugh!  That is the way I see it too! Problem is the schedule that I would have to fudge is that of other vacation type commitments. Ya can cancel work days for vacation days, but nobody cancels vacation days for vacation days? do they? Except of course if you are dropping the number of days at relatives houses(but none of that is on my schedule). | ||

The closest campground is Bear Den about 7 miles up the Blue Ridge Parkway from the hotel. They have campsites and 2 bed "cabins" that rent fairly cheap. I know a few attendees have stayed there at previous meets. https://bear-den.com I also see this one that's just a couple of miles north of Bear Den: http://www.springmaidmountain.com Otherwise, most of us are staying at the Skyline Village Inn. That's where to meet other Buellers if/when you make it to the meet. | ||

I went on a short practice run today... first time I've been on the bike since before the heart surgery. LOL @ my safety score... only 78 mph, so how did I get a "D"?? At Brad's suggestion, we had lunch at the Tellico Grains Bakery... DEFINITELY worth the trip just for that wood fired pizza.  A neighbor of mine went with me, he's toying with the idea of joining us for BITA... he rides a chopped up Yamaha. |
