I got invited to Powerline and Wellsville OffRoad the same weekend... Isn't Wellsville the previous Jeep Skool?

Any experience with either one?

I have finally acquired a universal joint and the U bolt fasteners for my CJ's rear drive shaft. Might even get it installed this month. Trying real hard to not rush into it!

I wanna get my Jeep ready to ride!

This followed me home the other day. My past few cars were compromises, marriage and divorce circumstances. I've been working my ass off. I'm on the cusp of starting my own business, so I figured I would buy something I wanted before I lose the work history and income verification...

Sweet! I like it a lot.

I have sworn off from any payment programs for such pretty things. I hate it when something like this shows up.....must not look at new vehicles.....the Force is weak in this one.

That bold blue is my favorite color on the new model chevy pickups. It looks sweet with gloss black (wheels, nerf bars, etc).

I saw one with a color matched camper shell and black wheels that look really sharp.

It really reminds me of the Sonic Blue that Ford used on the SVT products(Focus, Cobra and Lightning).

I need running boards... The GF is 5'3'' and it's a surprisingly tall truck.

Averaging a hair under 20 mpg!

That's darn good!

I mean the MPG.

And the GF! My wife is 1/2" taller than me and it drives me nuts!

Off topic.... and certainly not a slam on anyone's toys. Yes, i have a TDI, but not this one, and it's obvious traction control has a lot to do with..... this.

i'm guessing he was in 2wd. As a duramax driver, it's hard to keep my rear wheels hooked up any time it rains. Mine is even worse as it is a crew cab long bed, and there's virtually no weight over the rear axle.

I believe a ladder bar would solve his axle hop problem. That's one of those things i'm still waiting for some free time to come my way so I can build one.

Torque. Even the 'small' 5.3 will get get sideways with the traction control off on the exit/on ramps. Just standing on it from a dig (no powerbrake) it'll broil the tires for 50 feet.

Who doesn't?

My nearly base model Grand Caravan SE has traction control.

The VW has it. Launch control too although that part is disabled and you need a tuner box to turn it back on. A factory trained mechanic told me the company was afraid the TDI would have too much torque for the dual clutch ( Ferrari, Audi etc. ) transmission to reliably deal with under the abuse of launch control. So to save on warranty repairs it's not on stock.

If they let me keep the Sportwagen the $500 odd box is on my list. I only haven't installed one because I don't want to waste the money if they confiscated the car.

Skid pan goes on first. Then the remaining rubber brake lines to stainless.

Traction control is great! 500 hp Mustang Cobra? Drop the hammer and let it do it's thing.

My son has about 335 hp from his slightly modified '14 V6 auto Camaro. With traction control on he cannot figure out why his rear tires are wearing out at 25,000 miles when the fronts are still in good shape. DUH! Traction control has to sense wheel spin to correct for it. Those tires dig and release a lot during hard accelerations.

I truly enjoy, from time to time, a 15 mph rolling burn out from my non TC Vette. Somehow it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I test drove a new 2003 Chevy 2500 back in the day, with an 8.1L auto. That damn thing would not even move from a stop light without TC on. When I got it going any acceleration in second gear would light them up again.

My '07 8.1L 5500 GMC has TC, but with it's dual wheels the TC is more a function of when traction is needed due to an open rear gear.

I love kodiak/topkicks. Does it have a utility bed?

There's a topkick here local that has the biggest utility bed I've ever seen. I love it. I love big heavy trucks.

New "fenders" installed and I think I am actually going to get to go wheeling next month.

To much work and to many hobbies!

Mark, I like those fenders! They finish it up well.

Torque, I customized a pickup bed to make it have a fleet side type bed. Making it a dump bed with a framework that goes throughout the bed for strength. I intend to build a sleeper into the back of the cab to fill in a four foot gap Too many projects got in the way of getting it done yet, but it is on the slate and functional as it is. Yep, love me a HD truck too!

So you inspired me to fire up the ol' 400 this morning. A couple laps around the property had CJ running smooth and happy once again. I have entirely too many projects, i hate that it was five months ago was the last time it ran. Perhaps next year.

I put a steering gearbox off a Durango on my Jeep a few years back and it has started leaking.

Should I fix it myself... HELL NO!

I dropped the Heep off at "All LANES AUTOMOTIVE" to have it replaced.
A fellow badwebber has set up shop just a few miles from the house and thought I would help him out.

Plus I'm getting a little shake at 60 mph... hope this takes care of that

Well as we age fear of speed is normal. Fear can make you shake just a little at first, it will get worse over time. Try tightening the loose nut behind the wheel!

Thanks!

They dropped the gear box off this afternoon, but the shop tortoise 'ran' away. Waiting on the steering shaft.

I've bugged all the reptile rescues, animal control, and the Sheriff...

I turned the project over to the new shop fore'person', Reptar.
