They voted to exit even after the 0 went to Britain to preach and threaten against it.

What do you think?

That having absolute power in the hands of unelected bureaucrats sucks.

The EU committee will make up a law. It goes into effect instantly. No feedback no appeal. A guy in a far off land make decisions to run your life and there is nothing you can do.

Sure, Belgium is within spitting distance. Europe is small and self absorbed. D.C. to my house is a days ride on a motor bike. And light years in terms of attitude.

Kind of like Kalifornia making up laws that get enforced here in the midwest?

Generally speaking, we British tend to react badly when a foreign politician tries tell us what is best for us, particularly if accompanied by a threat. President O's visit did more harm than good to the remain campaign.
Personal opinion - I voted out and was surprised as hell that that we won, due the remain campaign/ government stacking the cards in their favour.

Multiple accounts of vote fraud but the alleged fraud side lost.

Anticipate a row in Congress as Obama may declare a trade war on those who disobeyed his magnificence.

Him having no legal authority to do so will go under reported.

Best of luck to Britannia.

How would it impact NATO? NATO existed long before the European Union did.

"Kind of like Kalifornia making up laws that get enforced here in the midwest?"

Seriously? While California may be at the forefront of certain legal issues, they have no legal weight in other states.

Not to mention, most of the "Californian's" people complain about are from other states who try and legislate paradise.

OT, from the little I know of this issue, Good on ya Britons!

I think doing the opposite of what Obama says is the smartest thing anybody could do. I give a big thumbs up to the Brits! The fact that Obama returned the bust of Winston Churchill as soon as he took office shows exactly what he thinks of England. If I became president the first thing I would do is apologize for the last 8 years and ask for the return of Winston!

Hmmm, I just thought of something! A nation being ruled by a far off entity is undesirable. Kind of sounds like our revolution from England! Now you guys know how we felt!

Thanks for that, I stand corrected! The last I had heard on the subject was by Charles Krauthammer who I usually trust. Nobody's perfect!

So it sounds like Krauthammer was correct and after the uproar it was brought back but no longer in the oval office. So my original post was correct in essence.
Obama's Kenyan father fought against the British in Africa. Therefore he really doesn't have a lot of love for them.

Final analysis, The White House got it wrong, the press got it wrong, on purpose, the White House automatically kicked over to BS mode without really checking any facts...... and nearly every person on the planet has heard, or repeated, one of the wrong explanations for what really happened.

So. IMHO We have confirmed the White House automatically will lie about anything because that's how they do things.

That's the cynical view. The paranoid view would be that the Obama crew is really really smart and deliberately keeps stories like this around to use a bait, and weapons against political opponents. It's a tactic.

Like the Birth Certificate business. That Got a whole group of people branded crazy, and was useful to marginalize anyone. Then you release the "proof" that the enemy is wrong & cop the win, politically. Double paranoia warning... The "proof" released was a multilayer pdf file, and crappy enough to be instantly branded a fake. So the Obama crew still has this thing as bait & weapon.

Obama doesn't even have to prove his innocence using this tactic, he just has to be marginally less guilty than the enemy says and he wins.

In the Churchill Bust case, you can see how it works clearly. Deny, BS, suck them in, and hit them with the proof.

Of course that's just paranoid crazy talk, they could just be A&&holes all the time out of habit.

Graeme1203,

I am absolutely with you on your analysis.

While I was surprised at the result of the vote, in my opinion, it went the right way.

"Not to mention, most of the "Californian's" people complain about are from other states who try and legislate paradise."

True, in part.

Having lived several years each in Montana, California and Arizona I have seen many Californians flee the state only to drag their problems along with them.

I don't think some folks have any inkling how how pissed off the "middle Americans" are . . . those lowly folks who make up the $50k-$250K/yr range . . drive Chevrolets and ride motorcycles.

The pols didn't get it in Britain either and both the big o and hillary were made fools up trying to dictate to another country that they should do what we said they should.

the big o has been bitch slapped about 4 times this week. I've been having my personal laugh as I watch health care costs plummet . . . just like he told us they would. (You know what's really happening, right?)

I suspect there are more surprises on the way. I battened down the fiscal and personal hatches about 6 months ago. . . . let the bastards fight it out.

We deserve better leaders.

Apparently the Republicans here aren't the only ones who do not like open borders and immigrants who refuse to assimilate. Enough of this crap, already.

When the populace stops listening to their pledged party leaders, and start thinking for themselves, leaders who aren't in it for the good of the people will be in trouble. Any idiot should understand that a country simply can't survive not enforcing it's boarders. The leaders who are telling their sheep otherwise may have finally jumped the shark in what they are telling the people. The combination of preaching open boarders, and free government giveaways is an incredible recipe for disaster. The weak mind that would be lead by such a politician is pretty scary in my view. I just don't get it.

I don't get it either.

Particularly when the President urges law enforcement to selectively enforce, or not enforce, laws.

Those hens will eventually come home to roost.

Pretty good article . .

quote:

Wary of being demonized, many even are reluctant to confess their anger. As a result, just as polls in the US often undercount Trump supporters, British polls were way off in predicting that “remain” would win.

Another quote from the same article:

While the original Redcoats tortured rebels, killed their families and confiscated their lands, the new Redcoats in Washington and Brussels kill the spirit of innovation, enforce conformity with regulations and punish dissidents with charges of bigotry.

Thanks Court.

Globalism is leftism on a world scale.

I think the Brits and Americans are tired of being told what we should think and do and the wackadoo overly P.C. foolishness that goes along with it.
