Epic That boys and girls is part of the fun we've chosen. Happens. Glad to see Jay and Bob fine and laughing. There have been a couple .... Quite similar ..... Endings to rides on rare motorcycles. I came my closest on one of Keith Ulicki's gorgeous RR1200 BattleTwins .....which was saved only by a combination of luck and sheer terror.

Jay was really struggling to keep those arms in. I know they hurt when they woke up the next morning. Happy it wasn't worse.

His chin offset the center of gravity. Glad he managed to keep his arms inside, that was scary to watch.

I was going to say it sure seemed to go on a bit from when the flip started. Violent tossing around none the less. Tore up an important car from drag racing history. From the start I was wondering why were they shooting across a rough infield area with a rocket like that. Lucky they didn't catch one of those barriers they passed!

Tore up an important car from drag racing history. Did they ever say if that was actually one of the original cars? Hopefully it was a recent replica.

Yeesh! Just watched that... On one hand, DANG if they didn't muck up a RARE bird... you could hear the disappointment in the driver's voice... OTOH, that car was meant to PERFORM. Risk is part of it! Leno's lucky to still have both arms...

You wonder why they require arm restraints or window nets to race? That could have been ......!

That window net thing started from Richard Petty's crash in I think it was 1968 or so. If I recall he rolled multiple times where he was knocked out for the last couple of rolls. At that point his arm was flailing out side the window as the car went over and over. He was lucky to live let alone still have two arms. They got it on camera close up which was rare back when they might only have four cameras covering the whole track. After that window nets were everywhere kind of like neck supports after Earnhardt died.

^ I looked it up; it happened in 1970 at Darlington in the Rebel 400.
