The bacon one bothers me. Many people don't eat it for various reasons, be it religious or by personal preference. I understand the intent of the pic was a joke to keep guns out of radicals hands, but what about the other 99.99999% of Muslims that don't have plans to go on a shooting spree? What about Jews, vegetarians, and people that just don't like bacon? (Although one could argue not liking bacon to be metal illness) If it came down to it, a strip a bacon wouldn't stop a potential terrorist from buying the gun. According to a Muslim friend of mine, eating pork is not a big deal, you basically apologize, say a few prayers, and go back on with you life. Back to the memes  | ||

Snowden is a traitor, in a logical, easy to prove sense. He signed statements of nondisclosure, and he disclosed. Illegal, his own signature condemns him. Hillary is not merely a traitor, she is a warlord. If you're a complication to her goals, she'll have you merc'ed in a heartbeat. Just ask the ~40 folks who have found themselves in her way. And wound up dead under mysterious circumstances, with no coverage from the mainstream media. | ||

The meme has a point though. Snowden did violate the law, no question. The things he revealed also represented violations of the law, no question. And the existing whistleblower paths that were supposedly available to him also appear to have been corrupted and ineffective. Hillary violated the law to facilitate, well, violating more laws, to achieve her own ends and her own self interests. So two different situations. I know where I stand on Hillary. I'm torn about where I stand on Snowden. (Assange and Manning can rot in jail though, that's yet another nuanced case, and the problem there is that the leaker did it because of political disagreements and immaturity, not the kind of constitutional concerns that drove Snowden). | ||
