Sad . . . but poignantly true.

For even more fun . . . try giving one a B.

I posted this in my classroom.

"For even more fun . . . try giving one a B. "

The SO is a teacher and has experienced this a lot. Suicide is the answer unless the parent finds out then they will harass and complain their way to the district superintendent who will then have a stern talk with you about your grading standards.

I blame T-ball. And of course the parents.

I had the extreme pleasure of firing one young lady, who was on her phone all day long when she was supposed to be working. The final straw was when she answered her phone during the CEO's meeting and argues with me about turning it off. With one nod from the CEO, I fired her on the spot and the CEO's only comment: "Anyone want to check to make sure their phone is off?".

Here's the funny part: Both of her parents showed up at work with her the next day to assure us she was a dedicated worker. I came to the lobby because of the commotion of the parents fighting with the receptionist who would not let them in the building. They left when I threatened to call the police and then tried to sue us.

...sigh...

The parents then tried to "friend" me on LinkedIn and started posting inflammatory and derogatory messages on our company's page, which ended with them being banned from LinkedIn and Facebook.

In hindsight the warning flag should have been when Mom insisted on being there for the interview (which we all refused).
