I just did a political commentary about moving out of IL for a state rep. candidate. I just found out that another friend of ours is packing up and moving to IN. His company is going there to cut costs. Found out that we had a BLM protest going on about 10 miles from our house last night. I've got a partially packed U-Haul truck sitting in the driveway tonight. Have hired help to get the big stuff tomorrow. Looks like the sale of the house is going forward, but you never know. A friend of mine was supposed to close on a sale last Friday. They buyers supposedly lost their financing on Tuesday. You never know till it's a done deal. Our closing is set for Aug. 5. It can't come fast enough! |

Seller's bank has had their appraisal done and has put us in their streamline short sale program to expedite the sale. My wife is in the property now taking pics and texting them to me so that I know how much work I'll have to do. I plan on putting an archery range in one bay of the garage. Will still be able to use the bay. |

BTW, When I was up there a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a place in Cadillac that was selling pasties. |

I don't trust this state. I had 20 days to let the DMV know I had changed my address. Able to do it online. Have to change address on license if you are changing address on FOID and CCW. $5 to get a new DL at the branch. You have to have 2 other pieces of ID with the new address on it. $80 to change address on FOID and CCW. Illinois quit mailing out renewal notices for plates on vehicles so that they could generate more funds by levying fines for expired plates. Only state I know of that doesn't always pay Lotto winners. Rockford, Illinois students often have a 1 hour bus ride to school and another hour back home. When they live a 5 minute walk from the nearest school just down the block. Place was rated one of the safest places to drive a few years ago. I shake my head in disbelief. I've not had any love for this place for over 10 years. I'm getting on Lil Red in the morning and going to Indianapolis to see what BLM is up to there this weekend. Actually, I'm supposed to clean out my mother n laws garage. |

Today, I am free and clear of Illinois! FEELS GOOD! I also found out last night that there is a place in Traverse City that does pasties. It's more of a UP thing, but they are in this area. What concerns me up here is that they don't even know what an Italian Beef is! |

If I had to choose to keep only one of the two... I choose pasties!

Never heard of a pastie(spelling?) like pictured above, always thought pasties were something strippers wore. |

Another example of Illinois ruining people. Italian beef.....soggy bread sandwich with cheese and peppers..... Everyone was raving about them to me. Not that great. Congrats Sifo. Supposed to get clearance on house Monday. Still here till Jan. |

Last time I ate a pasty . . . . it was by accident. |

"...Never heard of a pastie(spelling?) like pictured above, always thought pasties were something strippers wore." When we rode up to HC 2010 and back, on the way down from the Mackinaw Island bridge I kept seeing signs advertising pasties... I thought exactly the same thing. By the time I was informed correctly, we were too far south of the UP to grab some. Oh well... |

Total derailment of the foreclosure thread here... I had a coworker in California who was a yooper, and told me all about pasties. She knew of a tiny shop near where we worked that was owned by a family from the UP, that made three things: pasties, pressure-fried chicken and catfish. And fried potatoes. Four things. It was awesome, and we would eat there every Friday, buying all kinds of extras, and I'd eat those things all weekend long. Since then, she's moved back to Michigan. I bet I could get her to ship me some... Wrong picture, but who cares. |
