I stand corrected! It was a long time ago and I couldn't remember the specs, but the sound was still amazing. That I didn't forget! |

Was that one paddle shifters or gated stick? I'd figure all of us here would aspire to get in a Ferrari cockpit at least once, behind the wheel or not. Yet to happen for me |

Well we got in the Autocross events at the Motor Sports Park in Bowling Green KY fortunately without benefit of rain. The first two days were "low speed" autocross on their gigantic skid pad area. I was running mid second gear most of the course up to about 50 MPH. Faster than most of the Autocross events I have been to. Then we went out and got to run the road course on the 4th. We were let loose there utilizing the West half of the track. With only some speed controlling chicanes, and of course the physics of turns laden with curbing on the inside, and the world's meanest rumble strips on the outside, I was finally able to run WFO otherwise unrestricted. I was able to get about 90 MPH out of my 1986 powerless pig. I am sure some of the modern LS powered Z06 cars were hitting 120 plus. These rumble strips are not like what you see along Interstates and local highways. It is a "stay over there" control device, not so much a wake up warning. These things are like 4" raised rectangular blocks 8" apart. Kind of like if you'd line up foot long 4x4's in a row. I slid sideways and forward across a set at about 60 MPH. Wholly crap! I did not know a Corvette could bounce, flex, and shake so violently and survive! Surprised me! It was awesome in the same respect that in '07 they let us run WFO at the go-kart track at Road America on the Buell demo bikes. Lots of elevation changes and most of the corners being blind corners, make it a tough track to learn. It was great though. Now I REALLY need new tires and have to find some brake fluid more resistant to boiling. Then of course new and better tires would probably have me off the brakes a lot more. Is it normal that when I drive something like this I wonder how my Buell would do on the course? I will post some pictures when I relocate my camera. I know it is in the bus somewhere! |

Well crap! I have got to keep my eyes closed and head in the dirt. If I don't these kind of things can pop right up to move in with me!
Damn thing is a garage kept, really babied 2004 with only 18,000 miles on it. You know how hard it is to keep black clean with a gravel driveway and a carport? I did not think that part through too well, am such a dumb ass sometimes! |

I hate it when they follow you home and then you gotta convince mom to let you keep it! Don't worry, I won't tell! |
