I was more of a hooligan type rider than a racer type, although, it'd still be a hard choice. Neither would stay in stock trim for very long either way

I just hooligan my sportbike... ; )

That photo was one of a serious number taken at Rockingham Raceway in the UK. The SX was ridden by Craig Jones who also stage managed the whole event. The RX was ridden by Niall Mackenzie, a multiple British Superbike champion and all round good guy. You'll also see him on some of the 1125R promo shoots from back in the day. The photo along with others belongs to EBR. It took quite a few passes to get the exact image that we wanted. Photos taken by Double Red.

"Aw, damn. Looks like I'll have to ride this 1190 around the track some more until they get the photo right. I hate my life...."

I wonder how many rear tires for the SX it took get the timing right.

I had the pleasure of speaking with a pair of RS owners at homecoming, and got their thoughts on the RS as a streetbike. Both of them trailered them to homecoming, and broght another bike to ride around on.

The RS is beautiful, fast, light weight, and handles great, but is not great at dealing with the real world like 25mph town speedlimits. The gearing is tall, and the cooling on it is designed to work great at superbike speeds, but around town the bike overheats and goes into skipspark.

While the SX/RX are still geared too tall in my opinion (a 44 tooth rear sprocket fixes that), they are perfectly happy being ridden at low speeds, and the cooling works so well that in the rain it often says "engine cold".
