When I was still selling MC's for Smoky Mountain HD/BUELL, we had a big group take off together to see Hell Ride- had dinner and beer at Hooter's first, then the flick... AWESOME movie fo sho! FWIW, I loved Dennis Hopper's character- that was his last film appearance before he passed away. My only criticism was they didn't showcase enough kewl choppers and such.

I was at Springfield Mile (which is coming up btw) when they filmed On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter. Didn't make the final cut though unfortunately, must be laying on the cutting room floor somewhere...

No one mentioned Easy Rider.

That seems odd.

Perhaps only because we all know it! Or not, certainly it remains one, if not THE, iconic MC movie. A personal fave.

Thought that 5th post with the Peter Fonda link was it. Didnt realize it was something else. Hell I just found out today that Dennis Hopper was dead...lol. I've never been good at keeping up with current events...

For frickin sake, "The World's Fastest Indian"!!!!

Sir Anthony Hopkins puts on my favorite performance... if you can get the original DVD, it should include the original documentary made about Burt Munro...
in and of itself a truly fascinating film, which begat "TWFI".

And, "The Motorcycle Diaries". CAUTION/RED ALERT- this is about Ernesto Guevara and his bestie, traveling on a one-lung Norton across Central/South America, before he became "Che".
IMHO a very enjoyable drama, with great cinematography, and some pretty awesome crashes! I doubt this will make anyone here foam at the mouth politically, but... IT IS A VERY ENJOYABLE MC MOVIE. Trust me.

Can't think of any Evel Knievel flicks, but surely there are some out there. Used to have an Evel lunchbox as a kid.

Wow. I just checked in. What a great resource! Nobody mentioned Out of Nothing. But I would like to see that. There is another one about the Salt as well that was shot in the last few years or so. Documentary, docu-drama stuff.

I've seen On Any Sunday one and two and own them, seen The Worlds Fastest Indian, love it. I started this thread because I am not much of a movie guy and don't like to waste time enduring some Hollywood product. So, I thought I'd start checking out Moto-films instead. Appreciate the input!

"From Dust to Glory." I still think the Baja 1000 is the sickest race I've ever seen... even more so than the Isle of Man and the Macau GP.

Squids, "Viva Knievel" is the only movie I can remember. I don't even remember what it was about. I just remember a lot of wheelies, 70s style bad guys, and a stunt where he lands it in the open trailer of a semi.
I ran across a DVD of a film called "Girl Meets Bike" in a thrift shop video rack. It was shot and produced independently here in Minnesota, so I had to pick it up. It's a good story, well filmed for the budget constraints, and capably acted. I will say it's not necessarily the snappiest script writing, but there are some really interesting, vintage, everyman custom bikes in the film.
I watched it twice, the second time with the director commentary on, and I enjoyed it more that way. It was interesting to follow the directors intent, the character back story, and why shots were done the way they were.

Hey all- FWIW I just remembered that the magnificent Aerostitch company also carries a nice range of "sundry" items, many useful/whimsical/goony good, and they DO list an impressive list of DVD's...

http://www.aerostich.com/sundry/dvds

I didn't take the time to scan any intro's for any of them, but... knowing the A peeps, they gotta be good!

OK, just scanned the Aerostitch offerings- once I get some extra play $$$ I wanna get "One Man's Island"... check that one out!

I actually have a friend and former co-worker who's wealthy boyfriend/fiancée lives on the IOM in a nice big mansion, she just moved over there... one day maybe I can wangle my way over!
