Longshot, but figured I'd ask. The bands I work with (I have an audio production company / hobby) both use wireless in-ear monitors. I own four - Galaxy AS900. One band owns four, Sennheiser EW300 G2's. I bought my Galaxy sets about five years ago, as "proof of concept" for a band that was just...well, they were too goddamned loud on stage for the small rooms we played, and I wanted to convert them over to IEM's. Concept worked great, and the Galaxy units - for $249 each - have served very well. But, since they ARE $249 plastic-case units...I'm starting to spend as much time troubleshooting and repairing as I am using them. The Sennheisers...are tanks. Metal cases, better audio quality, longer RF range. But...they go on sale for $999 each. Now lately, I've been...uh...forgetting to take the Sennheisers off my truck a lot, and well damn, they're there when I do gigs and need extra sets (each band has four units; the band that doesn't own the Sennheisers now has five musicians). But, I don't like doing that. So...I'm asking around Badweb, since I know we come from all walks of life here...does anyone have any Sennheisers they aren't using? Anyone see any on Craigslist in their area? eBay is where I can find the $999 "sale" prices, and at that rate I'll support my local music shop....but at that rate, I simply don't have the cash to start populating the rack with 'em just yet. So if anyone sees any of the Sennheisers - REAL Sennheisers, there are Chinese knockoffs that don't say "Sennheiser" on the faceplate and have a USB port in its place - drop me a note. Thanks!! |
