A recent image of a worthless "entertainer" married to an equally worthless "celebrity" (both of whom I refuse to name) was posted wearing a Che Guevara T-Shirt. For a moment ponder the ignorance in that act alone (let alone the ignorance of his spouse). I present the following warm-fuzzy quotes from the cute revolutionary himself (and if challenged, I can post sources):
quote:-Che Guevara “We executed many people by firing squad without knowing if they were fully guilty. At times, the Revolution cannot stop to conduct much investigation.” “We don’t need proof to execute a man. We only need proof that it’s necessary to execute him.” “Yes, we have executed, we are executing, and we will continue to execute.” After the Cuban missiles were removed, “If the missiles had remained we would have used them against the very heart of the United States, including New York. We must never establish a peaceful coexistence.” In a letter to his Father, “My nostrils dilate while savoring the acrid odor of gunpowder and blood…I’d like to confess, Papa, at that moment I discovered that I really like killing.” “What we affirm is that we must proceed along the path of liberation even if this costs millions of atomic victims.” “We must eliminate all newspapers; we cannot make a revolution with free press.” "Cruel leaders are replaced only to have new leaders turn cruel." “My friends are friends only so long as they think as I do politically.”
Cool T-Shirt, dude

The ironic thing is that when the revolutions do come, it's the liberal intelligentsia and idiots like this who are the first to be sent to the Gulags. |

Goodness gracious. I can hardly fathom the ass beating Cuba would receive if they went to unrestricted war with the United States. |

In real life that fellow under the bed sends his neighbors to be executed. Today. In Cuba. The celebrity tourism industry has a lovely Potemkin village for viewing. Today. In Cuba. Cubans are still building rafts from their porches and inner tubes to escape to America. Today. Truth is much uglier than the lies Alfau parrots. |

Che also was quite racist. Would have especially enjoyed killing that "entertainer". I've told that to several people wearing that shirt. How much you want to bet Bernie has several in his closet? (Message edited by aesquire on February 26, 2016) |

Over a million Miami residents (nearly 20%) claim Cuban ethnicity. Their social influence is evidenced in every facet of the metro area's social, economic, and physical structure. There are large areas where Spanish competency is a must, and they are a very proud people. They love their culture, and hold onto their traditions with fervor. What would make Cubans leave Cuba? More money? Well, yes, sort of. The opportunities to live a life above poverty there are rare, and the government rule is by intimidation, and fascist absolutism. I have a coworker who floated over 4 times to achieve freedom. All before he was 21, and I really needed to know about it, so I engaged in conversation with him about it. What drives that 4 number into my heart is that every time he got caught and returned, the police would beat the crap out of him and threaten his family. These beatings were not as severe as his unhappiness there, evidently. When he finally got here, he got a job, applied for and received citizenship, got married, and has 3 children. The American Dream. Not to get rich, or too seek anything beyond tangibility. But to live a life built by his hard work and smart decisions. |

One thing that constantly fascinates me is the degree to which Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, etc are proud of their country/nationality (that they have fled to be here) |

Its not wrong to be proud of the creativity of people who came before you. Hispanic cultures are rich in artistry and music, among many other things... Those two just came to mind first... Food, my God, the wonderful food! |

It's not a commie under the bed as much as it is the ignorance of what Che Guevara actually represented and the ignorance of that nameless celebrity. |

Some good reading about William Morgan - the "American Comandante" in the Cuban Revolution. He also started out as a believer in the revolution and was a peer of Castro and Guevara and before his exectution was celebrated by Guevara and Castro as a hero of the revolution. http://www.thecubanhistory.com/2012/05/william-mor gan-a-rebel-americano-in-cuba/ |

One thing that constantly fascinates me is the degree to which Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, etc are proud of their country/nationality (that they have fled to be here) Its simply because its Home. I was a supervisor at a company that had a lot of Cuban women. They all longed to be Home again and would talk about how beautiful Cuba is. They escaped from the government, so they had to leave Home. All of these women were widows longing for their lost Families, and Home. Its simple really |

Just like I miss California... It was home for my entire life until about 6 years ago. I wouldn't ever live there again. |

IL, NY, CA...all called home at some point. If the S Fla foolishness infects the rest of the state, I'll be outta here, too. Liberal disease, rampant political correctness, high taxes, big bureaucracies...it all sucks. |

Dude is a fracking idiot wearing a fashion statement. On a different tangent, like Rick A., I live in Faw'da also. Couple of things that grind my grivets: In a local Lowes, a lot of products are displayed "Spanish side out", other products have the English as the secondary language. It used to stop just north Dade county. I have nothing against people looking for a better life. My ancestors fled Ireland generations ago. But if I moved to a country where English is not spoken, I wouldn't expect THEM to cater to me, I would learn the fracking language. |

I loved Florida when I moved there in '85. It was still American soil at that time. Central Florida was being so over infiltrated by outside U.S. influences. They began teaching Spanish as a standard class equal to teaching English in public schools. Not so much because of the Cuban population, but rather the large and fast growing groups of Mexican folks. Because they both use the Spanish language they often get confused, at least in the central areas of the state. Slaughter I totally understand where you are coming from on this thread. Celebs can be such idiots. Almost like they cannot read and certainly have little use for thinking. |

How dare the Mexicans and what-nots come into our land. Next thing you know, people will come from Europe to escape religious persecution. *In jest, but seriously, we are all immigrants. |

Yes, but maybe the problem is with their shear numbers(of illegals), and that they are very prolific, and in many ways come in order to "use" our American Leftist hand up system to the extreme. Sure they are good workers, but they are very adept at taking advantage of not paying income taxes, but have no problems taking advantage of programs that these taxes pay for. Furthermore, somehow they become a very strong voting block. |

It is of my opinion and research that it is quite the contrary in the terms of taxes and culture. Part of the resistance to assimilate into our culture is the fact that the immigration and citizenship system is bottle-necked into being completely FUBAR. If they country won't accept them, then they won't accept us or our ways, including our language. I can't blame them, and they aren't leaving anytime soon. I've been studying Spanish and Haitian Creole in order to make my job easier when I am in Miami. For every "scam artist", there is at least one person trying to live the American dream. Many Mexicans use fake SSID numbers just to procure employment in Florida. Sure, they may be sending the bulk of their money home, but who can blame them?! There is no rule against it, and we are perpetuating the cycle by sending our factories down there to reap the rewards of 2.00/hr labor. If I was given the opportunity to sneak into Austria or Germany for 120/hr, I would surely think about sneaking my way in. |

I would surely think about sneaking my way in. And you probably wouldn't blame them for wanting better border security and deporting you over and over either. |

No one with a brain doesn't understand why people come here. If they did so legally, like my relatives, few would object. But there is a lot of power in deliberately creating a second class of cheap exploitable labor. Ted Kennedy's staff wrote the immigration bill that made racism a structural part of our laws. So it's deliberately hard to come here legally. And it's very profitable to exploit illegal aliens. So this administration has deliberately imported tens of millions. Motivation? Cloward-Piven. Plus mega bribes. Mexico publishes comic books on how to exploit American welfare programs. How to trespass. What legal tricks to use. With good reason. The second largest source of money in Mexico is the money sent home by illegal immigrants. ( iirc legal money sent home is fourth could be wrong ) Considering the Arab oil war, money from here may be #1. |

It's still annoying to have to dial 1 for English. English should be the default, dammit. |
