“I’m really singing it from the heart and I’m also singing it very true to the way it was written because that’s when I think it sounds its most majestic.
There’s no greater honor than standing next to the Color Guard, the Flag, the Army and the Military and singing the National Anthem.”
My Dominican sweetheart said the same thing. When I first heard of her, I said "meh"... now I know she has SERIOUS pipes, even before the $uperbowl- she and Tony Bennett have an album, or at least several collaborations, IIRC.
I am a jazz junkie, too rarely I get a fix- she has a true jass voice, older than her years. Her version of the National Anthem will not be surpassed for a long while.
She did it right. Any more than that and she would have been doing it wrong.
Lady Gaga is, IMO, one of the finest artists of our time. She doesn't use Autotune. When you hear Lady Gaga you're hearing Lady Gaga. I'm not sure there are any other artists in her chosen genre that don't use Autotune.
I generally listen to metal myself but Lady Gaga is the real deal.
Didn't like the Bowie tribute much. I think it was her impersonating a man's voice. But it was nice to hear some Bowie music. I would have rather seen real footage of David.
