So I was in my car heading out to a dinner with friends and as I'm sitting at the light a bike pulls up behind me, I can only see the headlight and it looks like it might be a KTM. It's a naked bike and the rider is in full leathers and helmet.
I make my left turn and am heading for the on ramp to the highway and the biker follows me. Now this ramp has three turns and is rather entertaining to get it right but since I've been down it a million times I kinda know where the turn in points and apexes are.
So I don't want to hold up a sport bike so I nail the throttle and fly down the ramp. As I enter the highway I'm over 100 mph and I check my mirror and the KTM is fully leaned over in the last turn, which scared me a little since I was out on two wheels earlier in the day and the amount of salt on the roads was not good! Anyway, he made it fine. I proceeded to slow to a normal speed when he flew up next to me with a big grin and a thumbs up, which I returned. He then left me sitting still as he grabbed a handful!
So officer, I really didn't want to go fast, I just didn't want to hold him up!

Funny story, my assistant at work was instrumental in me getting my cobra back on the road (she hounded me until I got it done) so as a reward I let her get behind the wheel as we went down a country road. I had instructed her to keep it legal and was just enjoying the sound coming from the side pipes when she suddenly dropped it down a couple of gears and hammered the go-pedal, unleashing 427 cubic inches of angry power.
"Holy sh*t!, what was that all about?"
She replied, "We were about to get passed by a pick-up truck and I didn't think you'd like that."

People hold up and even cut off my Suzook often.

I guess nobody wants to get passed by a "dirt bike."

My other vehicle is a Honda Element. You know, one of those refrigerators on wheels! It is really funny how many people will speed up just to keep from getting passed by a "clown car"!

Kind of the flip side. Yesterday, I was headed home from work. Sitting at a traffic light waiting to turn left. Car across the intersection going to make a right turn. Light changes, guy across the intersection has the right of way.

The exact INSTANT the light turns green, behind me stands on his horn. Not a quick tap to wake up Mr. texting guy after 15 seconds of green, we are talking about a .004 reaction time at the drag strip.

I have NEVER in my life taken longer to move thru an intersection before. I went slower than almost moving. The whole while the horn is going non stop. Very satisfying.

Could have put on the flashers. Shut it off and got out to look under the hood. Explanation, I thought I heard a noise.

"Slow1075"- good stuff. Douche Canoes abound on streets nowadays.

Yesterday, driving my Nissan hardbody truck, I was wondering how to utilize the acoustics of my truck bed to enhance/amplify a train horn installation, which I've SEVERELY wanted to do on ALL my vehicles... it'd be tricky to hang all the hardware on a bike, but DANG I'd love to try...

When I get the person behind me basting the horn for no reason and I'm in no hurry, I set the park brake, walk back & ask politely with a deadpan expression if there's a problem, when they start yapping about me holding them up (as they inevitably do) I give them a bright smile & tell them I apologize for the delay but thought that he was trying to signal a problem to me.
By this time the light's not green anymore, oh dear, how sad, never mind.
