I'm looking at mirror stalk mounted RAM mounts for my Note 5 and Ohio EZ Pass.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have the large phone RAM X Grip and use it all the time. You have to make sure to push the rubber feet all the way down though or they can eventually back off. I think they are originally superglued on but that doesn't last forever. Overall though I really, really like it.

The ram mounts are fantastic. Expensive, but worth it.

They don't make anything waterproof that will fit the Note or any other plus sized phones, so you will either need to improvise something or use a non enclosing mount.

I have the X Grip for my Galaxy S6, and superglued the rubber grips real good like Phelan did.

Installed the RAM ball with the stock mirror Torx screw that isn't used anymore due to bar end mirrors.

I will say, though, that the X-grip doesn't keep the phone level rotationally: the spring mechanism that puts pressure on the four arms that grip the phone also allow some rotational play, even when locked tight. So if you're using it for real time GPS, it can get annoying to re-clock the phone so it's level to your view.

Great mount, though, if they don't make a specific hard-molded one for your phone. The GS6 is water-resistant, so I didn't need to worry about a weatherproof case, and it's been fine on a couple downpours. They make a larger X-grip as well for larger phones... the Note might be barely too wide (that'll be the limiting dimension) to fit in the "normal" phone holder.}

I'm a third for the X-Grip mount. I have one on my S3T and love it. I'll be buying another for my S1 shortly.

I found that the best/cheapest place to get them is Ebay. My local motorcycle store wanted 60 bucks for the small one and 70 bucks for the longer one. I bought the short one on Ebay for ~30 bucks.
