I've been watching to come across the right bits and pieces to do something special with a headlight project. While I don't have the time to do it right now, if somebody else is interested, have a look at these:

Two for $5 on sale right now. This is the hard part to source, stinking bright LED elements are now cheap and easy to fine (good deals for them also at that same site).

It would take some work, but those lenses could be a great foundation for a stupid bright LED setup that has an almost perfect cutoff so that it doesn't blind oncoming drivers.

(and just for clarity, by "project" I mean *major* fabrication and invention project. I don't mean what passes for a project these days on your average youtube video, which to me is more assembly of a kit. This would actually require some invention.)

That website is great!
I was thinking of one of these star jobs:
http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/categor y/340070/leds/5-30w-leds/1.html

But I see that your website has even bigger LEDs in the 10W range.
