Please, I don't want to hear how a PC is better than an Apple product. I'm not starting a thread that's akin to debating religion. I need help, and I'm hoping somebody here has the knowledge and desire to help out a barely computer literate member of the forum. I've been using a MacBook Pro that was given to me since I hit the road last May. Yesterday, I managed to lose the document icon that was in the dock at the bottom of the screen. I don't know what I did to lose it, but I can't find it anywhere and I can't find any way to start a new document. If you know how to fix this, and can explain it to me in baby steps, your help would be greatly appreciated. |

As to how it went missing... a twitchy finger can remove stuff from the dock. Click and hold, then drag up away from the dock, you'll see the shortcut disappear when you release the click. It's kind of easy to do this on a track pad, not so easy with a mouse. |

You're welcome. And what Greg_e said. I see missing dock items often in IT support. Just remember, Google is IT support's best friend. DAve |
