Over this winter I'm fixing up a XB12S to keep at my house on Lake Winnipesaukee. I'll register it in NH and I know it needs to be inspected. How fussy are they on turn signals? I'm considering one of the LED ones that are all in the tail light housing. I also have a Corbin street fighter saddle that is a single rider and has no strap. I've removed the rear foot pegs as well. Will they gig me on that? Thanks for any info. |

Check out New England Street Riders.com AKA NESR. Great group of guys from all over New England, I'm sure one of the NH guys can help you out. |

Depends on the inspection place, some places in NY will reject a cycle if it doesn't have signals the required 8 inches apart (or something like that). They wil also reject non-epa mufflers. These are mostly dealers that have been bitten in a sting, the backlash is anything that isn't stock will fail. I still can't believe that dealers are getting away with selling cycles that clearly have illegal exhausts on them, e.g. the Harley dealers. they don't even try to change them on the used cycles, yet they are required to inspect them before sale. |

It's Virginia, so not definitive, but my XB12S passenger pegs are removed and the inspector hasn't complained in 3 years. On the other hand, he told me to switch my HID lo beam back to stock. He is supposed to be the most reasonable inspector in my area, so ask around for which one is not too by-the-book. |
