Well I took 3 weeks of vacation just in case there was a Buelltoberfest but now there is no way I can ride down with this shattered heel. The doc says I'm heeling faster than most but still doubt I'll be able to ride. I'll see how it goes. I have been driving with my left foot so I might drive down and sleep in the car. I should be able to make a campfire or two! | ||

Well the site is always Suches, GA in the general vicinity of Two Wheels of Suches. We seem to have a couple of votes for October 16-18th, which suits me fine. Anybody else? | ||

The calendar at TWoS is clear for the weekend of the 16th to 18th. I'm in, I'll be reserving a room now. I'll use it that weekend, Buelltoberfest or not. | ||

Given the awesome weather down there that time of year, I figured they'd be at least halfway full at the lodge- oh well, innkeeping isn't part of my skillset. Matthew- if you care to split that room, let me know. It'll be a longshot if I can make it, but I'd sure like to if at all possible. I'm OK with "no", if you'd rather not share a room with Sasquatch snoring. (I kinda feel like I should pick up some good earplugs for anyone who has to bunk with me.) Funny story, but my GF snores just as bad as me- she spent last weekend in Tunica with her buddy, let out a snore so loud and severe that her friend woke up with a scream, which woke my honey up screaming... yeesh. They had a good girl's weekend out though, objective met.  | ||

 It's all good. If I make it, I'd be honored to meet her. I'll be watching other options for shelter. On one hand, I'd really enjoy tent camping if I would be there for at least 2 days on site- OTOH, C3, those lodge rooms and probably those dinky cabins would be more sensible for a short trip. We'll see. | ||

Update: I ended up with room 3. It seems that #2 is already occupied that weekend. I warned Mary we are coming Buellerxt, bring your friend. Mary will be at the lodge after 2 tomorrow if anyone wants to call and reserve anything. | ||

Show up, Crusty, you'll know what to do. For a first-timer, getting to C3 Central is a challenge... they've never improved the gravel driveway, at about a 7% or more grade. Tootal, I'm feeling for you today. We just had a new deck this week and I was checking out the remains of the old one to see what's salvageable for future projects, when I slipped, stepped sideways to save myself and trod on a plank with sticking up nails. Wasn't wearing my work boots just trainers. Now got holes in my right foot, fortunately not deep or dirty, but the bruising is the killer, no way I can ride like this, if the bike leans right at a stop I'd never hold it up. Should be fine in a few days, might get a tetanus booster this week though. | ||

Owwww! Been there myself! I even put a hatchet in my foot one time! I'm afraid I haven't been gentle with my feet over the years!! Getting plenty of rest now though!! Sure is boring though!  | ||

Yeah, you told me that story... glad you had a big brudder to catch you. Jeez we sure take some bad hits/wounds/breaks/bends sometime. I still wonder what my natural nose would've been like had I not bisected my sis' '68 Mustang dash with it, down to the metal at age 5, when a dumptruck driver ran a light in front of us and she hit the brakes... I flew from the right passenger backseat, face forward, Superman like. Our mom had a beautiful nose. Glad to be alive, kicking, swearing, living, loving and riding. | ||

Ok youse guys, today I passed my Canadian motorcycle test, so I can now legally ride the Guzzi wherever my little heart desires. I've booked a cabin at TWO for Friday 16th and Saturday 17th & arranged work to be able to attend. Sooo, I'll be kicking off from here on the Thursday morning & hossing the Stelvio southbound for it's first long haul. Anybody who fancies meeting up on the way down drop me a line and we'll see what we can set up. I'll also have a spare bed in the cabin if anyone needs a roof. "Wealthy nymphomaniacs"... with her own bike too, right? Well, maybe not, there are additional benefits to carrying the right pillion passenger, no? Great news, Grumps! I'll call dibs on that spare bed, contingent on how quickly I can build $$$, steam, and general goodwill with management in my brand-dang new job. Once I get close to the end of this month, I'll know how my finances are looking, and how my prospects for $$$ will look going through October. Shouldn't be a problem... please standby in the meantime. I've been thinking about it quite a bit- I'd really like to make it down if I can. Regardless of whether I can or cannot take the weekend off, you're welcome to stay/visit here at my shack in "Mur-vil" TN. Once you make it down to the area, there's almost an endless number of great routes to run... provided time allows. Western NC, East TN, and North GA are all magnificent- I can make suggestions as needed, as can many here. Fun stuff! I'd been wondering when things on this thread would pep up... got fingers crossed that I can do it. | ||
