Congratulations Mark! Very nice find. It only seems fitting that the leader of the WV Buell rally actually ride a Buell. And a fine looking Buell it is.

The S3 is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever made. Congratulations, Mark! I hope you enjoy lots of miles. Those roads around Harrisville are just what it's designed to eat.

The old girl got new shoes today.
I will say the front brake caliper and I are not on speaking terms...
What a PITA! Had to come in and do a search on badweb. Problem solved.
I added a LED H4 headlamp bulb.
Oil changed in both the motor and primary.
Placed a order with American Sport Bike last night for a set of 1" bar riser spacers.
I also ordered a set of "Death" grips from Moto Grip.
The new PR4's are night and day better than the set of 15 year old dunlops. I wish I would have checked the tire pressure prior to changing them.

I used my Jeep top hoist to do the lifting.

"Welcome to the S3 club bro."

Ocbueuller, There's an S3 club? I thought only the S2s had their own "old school" thread, or am I taking it too literally?
Nice bike by the way Wolf.. As far as bags, I decided long ago that due to the un-obtanium-like properties of the factory bags, I switched over to generic soft luggage just in case the bike ever tips. They also open at the top rather than flip open so its easier to load and unload for grocery getting and other hops. (I use my bike like a Thai farmer, and have hauled almost everything but plywood and livestock.)
I'm saving the pretty bags for special occasions like a Buell rally or homecoming. I'll get to one, one of these days....

"I use my bike like a Thai farmer, and have hauled almost everything but plywood and livestock."

That'd be me around town with my '77 Beemer... it came with a Reynolds rear rack, to which I promptly fastened an oversize milk crate. I rarely ever use my old Nissan truck for much running around at all.

+1 on the comment about generic soft bags... until someone out there starts doing high-quality repro's of them, leave them in the garage until a "show" day... or, could one fabricate some hefty tip-over protectors for them?

Hey, another reason to come visit Mr. Fabrication, Vern, down here in E. TN, no?

Mark; just find a set of lowers. Vern is more than capable of spraying an Amazon Green paint job on them.

Mnscrounger,
Not a literal club, no. But if you care to take up the challenge to start one?
Mark,
Lowers tie the look of the bike altogether. Nice score on the bags. I was going to suggest a set of Uly luggage adapted to fit. Was also going to post a pic of my S3T until I realized I don't have a pic. Will need to fix that.

I have a set of lowers in Amazon green, but they need some care and touch ups. One is missing the mounts. If interested PM me. I got them cheap thinking I would repaint them, but that's not going to happen any time soon and I would rather see them used.

SQUIDS.. thinking of fabrication I've mentioned in other posts about doing our own version of S3 bags. In MY world they would be hard sided, paintable, fit the contours of the OEM mount bars, use tubular lock cylinders that can be keyed to the owners bike, and lastly, open at the top so you can drop a full grocery bag, (or a 24 pack vertically) into them. Think Road King bags in an S3 shape

Go for it, man! NOS or unmolested original bags for these bikes apparently are so scarce, it'd be a great option for folks still rolling on with an S3T... what would be even kewler would be a kit to retrofit most/all old tubers with a good set of hard bags.

In the meantime, gotta take care of my Triumph Sprint ST... I've got the nice nylon soft bags, which work well, and I never really liked the contours of the optional hard bags for it. A little too bulbous.

This thread is scaring me a bit... sure would be nice if things work out for me to attend... too soon to tell.

Thanks for getting them out so quick!

I had a hell of time with the mounting bracket. I couldn't get the upper left mounting bolt to play nicely. I snapped a bolt off in the threaded mounting hole. I ended up drilling all the threads out on both sides and using a through bolt w/nut to secure the bracket to the frame.

Bar risers are do in tomorrow from American Sport Bike.
Hopefully the new grips will soon follow.

You may need to extend your cables with the risers. YRMV
