I picked up a new belt for my Uly but it has the slits on the outside of it like most HD belt drive belts. Has anyone used one these on a Uly and is it noisy? Or will it even work correctly?

That doesn't sound right. Where'd you get the belt? Brand/part number?

Sounds like you got a Gates belt for a Softail instead of Goodyear belt for a Buell.

Yep softail. thats all they had but same count. guess that just wont work?

Yep you got the wrong belt. The right belt will have part number G0500.1AKx on it

Harley belts won't work, they are not designed to bend backwards over our tensioners. Someone tried a Sportster belt on the XB as it was the same tooth count, he didn't get far down the street before it snapped.

thats last thing i need to happen. My belt just tore off some of the teeth i guess you would call them so i was able to nurse it home.
