Hi. My name is Alex. I don't use the forum much as I live in Spain. I am a Buell lover and I think this motorcycle deserves more credit than it actually gets. I'm making my way up in the US film industry (not an easy task living in Spain). This october I'll have the chance to shoot a short film in Austin, TX and I convinced the director to use a Buell as one of the characters ride. In Spain I know many buell riders that'd love to be in the film. Unfortunately that's not the case in beautiful Texas. So... I'm looking for buell riders that would like to have their ride immortalised on film, or at least have a beer and talk about engines sometime while I'm there. You guys have a great one and greetings from spain Alex |

You've certainly have a strange request to put forth Alex. What are you looking for? A older tuber? A sport bike (firebolt)? A xb s,ss, city crosser? A Ulysses? A water cooled 1125? A 1190? Perhaps one of the police bikes? Throwing about all I know of models for you to choose from. |

Sounds as though model doesn't matter, just that the character rides a motorcycle and a Buell would be cool. |

An XB9SX with the translucid plastics would be cool. |

Here is the Hellbuellies facebook page. I think they use that more than the yahoo page now. They are a great bunch of Buell enthusiasts in and around the Austin area. https://www.facebook.com/groups/46213864076/ (Message edited by pmjolly on August 03, 2015) |

First of all thanks for the interest guys! I'm just looking for a badass looking buell, hopefully with a nice exhaust to have a cool soundtrack for the film We are looking for an S1, X1 or XB lightning in good condition. Sorry, no police bikes, ulys or firebolts. The character is a little bit of a pimp, so he needs a bad boy ride Got your private message Blackm2 and will be contacting you soon. I'll also check the Hellbuellies page. Thanks for the info guys! (Message edited by alexsocal on August 04, 2015) |

This thread brings to mind some of the wonderful (and horrible) movie placement moves made over the year. Several were disasters . . . several were a blast. Coolest was the wheelie 1/2 down the deck of an aircraft carrier . . . into a stoppie the rest of the way . .. ending at the edge of the deck. My personal favorite was the Penthouse photo shoot that K12's brother and I worked. |

"Nice exhaust to have a cool sound track".....What no two stroke "ring-ding-ding" to have backing up a four stroke V Twin?? Don't forget to make it sound like it is upshifting eighteen times as the bike is sliding through a corner! Sorry. Too many movie producers/directors have never even seen a motorcycle. |

^ Agreed! I still cringe while listening to the two-stroke sound effects while young John Connor is zipping along on his four-stroke dirt bike in Terminator 2. And yes, he upshifted into at least 20th gear. At least they got the Fat Boy sound effects right. |

I liked how he revved it in the garage when it wasn't even running. |

3rd rock. I don't remember which episode, but they're all on Netflix. Also, not a screenshot. Well, I guess it was...I took a shot of my TV screen with my phone. |

I will mention, if you try to attach a camera to an XB, it better have good isolation or a global shutter. I've got a small mount that attaches at the oil cooler and back at the frame if you need a low shot from the left side. If you have decent cameras you can get foot shifting and front wheel from the same mount (two spots for mini ball heads). I think I used a +4 diopter to get foot/shifter in focus. Vibrations from the engine had me halt my work on this, never had cameras that could handle it without jello. Meant to try the Panasonic tethered 4k cameras (really UHD), but never bought any. Gopro mounts will flex at the plastic case, but an aluminum cage on the gp4 might work. (Message edited by greg_e on August 04, 2015) |

I'm thinking if the character is a little bit of a pimp then he oughta be on a little bit of a pimped out ride! Please refer to the GROM thread! LOL! |
