So, lets assume that the 2015 model year specs and regulatory requirements are still valid for the 2016 model year... Snacktoast- I own a 2006 VW Jetta TDI that was actually built and sold in 2007. The EPA tightened their emission regs for diesels starting I believe in 2008. VW had a new engine in the works but it wasn't going to be ready by 2007. I don't know if they had to get some sort of special permission, but they were allowed to continue producing and selling 2006 model TDI's into 2007 to help bridge the gap. I'd certainly think "new" EBR could keep producing 2015 model bikes at least through calendar year 2015, assuming they can clear all the other legal hurdles. |

During its bankruptcy, General Motors transfered strategic assets to a new legal entity while the original entity kept the undesirable assets. As far as I know, there were no production gaps for any of its products under the new entity. |

A long as they don't change emissions related elements of the design or the regulations change, they can keep building the already certified bikes. |

Common sense has no place in any discussion about the EPA |

Aside from new 1190's, I think this is one thing a lot of us would REALLY like to see: Quote from Erik in a letter from the editor in the July issue of Cycle World:
quote:We've been working on the mainstream stuff. I can't talk about what was coming, but I will say some of it is much different than anybody would have expected. Stuff that is 18 months away from full-volume production that people would go "Holy s--t! EBR did that?!" It was all much higher volume and lower price.

^ That and there were things that might have only been 9-12 months out at most and would have seen the light of day, kinda like the B2 Barracuda from Buell. Literally days away from launching it, bang, FUHD shut it all down. |

A long as they don't change emissions related elements of the design or the regulations change, they can keep building the already certified bikes. As much as that makes perfect logical sense, we are dealing with government regulations. I hope it's true, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. |
