Your most likely going to walk around more then sitting in the bleachers

Be that as it may, it's nice to have a good spot to sit that's assigned, and has a roof over it.

Never know when the sky opens up, the wife and I will be high and dry.

I was there in '09, and watched it from high in the bleachers--- in Hurricane Ike!
It hardly diminished it at all, with everything (and everyone) going like the wind!
Until the Yamaha tent collapsed, that is.

I'm super excited...now, if only my damn tickets would show up!

We'll be in B PH, Box 18, Row H, if I'm not mistaken. This is my first MotoGP and the lady friend's first motorcycle race. I can't wait: )

We're there for the whole weekend. Leaving NY on Wednesday, stopping halfway in Washington, PA and arriving in Indy Thursday evening. We'll be there for practice, qualifying and racing then heading back for home Monday morning and expect to be home Tuesday evening.

Just as last year, my friend and I will be riding our Maxi Scooters (he has a Silverwing, I have my C650GT). We'll be accompanied by a "MotoGP Virgin" who'll be riding either his Electra Glide, or his K1300GT (not sure which he plans on riding yet).

Pwnzor, doesn't sound like you'll have time for "Motorcycles on Meridien" which is a shame... it's not to be missed.

Motorcycles on Meridian...

After Googling that, it appears to be exactly the type of thing I avoid on a motorcycle.

Honestly, I don't like riding near large groups of other motorcyclists I'm not somehow acquainted with. It's why I don't go to Sturgis or Bike Week or any "Bike Nights".

Might be fun to walk around and do some people watching, but I wouldn't do it on two wheels. Just not my thing.

That's what we do. Find a place to park and just ogle the bikes on display. All of the restaurants and bars are open trying to entice people in through their doors.

I discovered "The Tilted Kilt" and love it. Like Hooters but with a better food selection and skimpier outfits (oink... oink...).

Four hundred miles down, another 300 tomorrow and we'll be in Indianapolis. Overnighting in Washington, PA. Dinner at Cracker Barrel, and breakfast tomorrow morning at Waffle House. Then it'll OFFICIALLY be a "Road Trip!"

I'll be having lunch in Nashville on Saturday, dinner in Indy that night. Breakfast in the hotel lobby, and on to the racetrack.

Matthew- there are TONS of great restaurants in Nashvegas... I'd recommend the Pinewood Social for sure. If you have any preferences, holler at me, or check out the Nashville Scene online, they're the local weekly paper, and they always have good info on eats.

Of course, Jeremy or Barker would know better than me...

Edit: The Scene publishes every Thursday, ran across this bit...

http://www.nashvillescene.com/bites/archives/2015/08/05/biscuit-loves-east-nasty-named-best-sandwich-in-america-by-bon-appetit-during-a-fancy-fete

Given that I grew up in Nashville, and I'm a "foodie", there are TONS of places I'd love to try, this one, Little Octopus, and scads more...

What a ride. Yesterday, 90+ degrees and humid. Today? Rain and never saw temperatures over 66. Got here around 5:00 and the sun came out after the bikes were unpacked.

Forecast for the weekend looks good, though!

we're thinking Cafe Rakka or Center Point Pit BBQ...

We're just going to be stopping in for lunch, not much time to hang around.

In Nashville, I've not heard of those two- Jack's BBQ down on Broadway is a fave, and the Pinewood Social is just around the corner, overlooking the river... strange place, has a killer menu, killer bar, a bowling alley, bocce ball court, and swimming pool!

Swing a dead cat, and you'll find something tasty!

Cafe Rakka was on the Food Network the other night, and the Oak Ridge Boys were actually eating there when Guy Fieri walked into the place.... they raved about it, and looked like they had some good falafel... as well as several different lamb preparations that seemed pretty scrumptious

Ahhh- it's gotta be good if the Boys were there... the range of seriously good ethnic food is ridiculous now... keep in mind I moved away in 1990 to East TN.
I do my best to keep up with things from afar.

Keep us posted on things! And, for the record, I'M JEALOUS. ; )

Still, Little Octopus, Pinewood Social, and a pho place I'd read about in the Scene... not to mention all the hot chicken places there... they have a hot chicken festival there now!!

I'm starting to lean towards your suggestion, Pinewood Social.

We'll see what mood strikes us as we get closer.

Timing was wrong.... bypassed Crashville, heading to Louisville KY for a late lunch.

We will have to hit Pinewood on the way home.

FYI streaming HD video in Kentucky sucks. Trying to watch qualifying while Gretchen drives.... not working well. Tried both At&t and Verizon. Works for a bit, then cuts out. Frustrating.

OK.... Pinewood Social is great. Thank you Brad, for steering me towards it.

I had the Reuben, wife had the catfish sandwich, we shared the troup dip.

Really very good. Cool location too, wasn't what I expected at all.

Awesome! The same folks that run The Catbird Seat run that place... they're at the top of the "foodie" scene in Nashvegas.

When my sis and I went, we made it for Sunday brunch- they do a mashup of Eggs Benedict and that Reuben that's fantastic, plus the best Bloody Mary I've ever had.

How was the racing?

The racing was phenomenal.

I literally had full access to everything, everywhere. A great time was had by all... except maybe Jaime when Marquez passed Lorenzo with 3 laps to go.
