They had two on display at this year's Chicago IMS and they had crowds of people around them. Most people seemed to like them and by their sales numbers their going to be a hit! | ||

Checked it out at the local dealer. Looks like a fun bike, but the handle bars are way too much like a dirt bike for my taste. That would be an easy fix though. Otherwise it looks to be a pretty cool package. | ||

I saw one at Ephrata and it's pretty tiny so you're looking at a twisty two lane motorcycle for solo riding unless you're dating a dwarf which might be a good thing. Who knows? That exhaust is unbelievably FUGLY which is a real insult coming from a Buell owner! It seems to be a bit of a niche bike but it's probably a lot of fun. | ||

There are at least a couple of different exhausts depending on which model it is and aftermarket pipes are already available. I'm betting it's more of a "UIM" (Universal Italian Motorcycle) than a niche bike. It seems to be aimed squarely at the Hipster crowd based on the advertising, but from what I've read on other forums a lot of older guys are buying them too. | ||

I like them. I have only seen the Icon in person, but they are comfortable (sitting on, not having ridden one). And I got dusted on the freeway riding my klx by one. I think they have a winner. | ||

10k for a barely updated old monster =( So much better bikes out there for the cash. Ducati is brilliant though, creating a motorcycle specifically for a certain segment of people that up til now pretty much had to build their own. Ducati is the new HD, buy into the lifestyle. You can even get a custom plaid shirt to match your plaid scrambler. | ||

The BMC/EBR life style was all about three things: A) Multi-Function dictating Form B) Embracing Uniqueness C) Owning the Corners They are bikes for Riders not stylers or profilers. The Scrambler is not my cup of tea.... | ||

Saw these at the Sacramento Mile last May. Every time I see the Duc or the BMW scrambler, i get a twinge because I feel like Buell started the wave, but couldn't take the ride. I know scramblers, trackers and cafe's are not Buell inventions, but the thing that Buell has in common with all of them is that the Buell has a simple uncluttered beauty and strength. Technology aside. Erik can do these better than anyone else. I'd like to see EBR putting out bikes of distinction for the street, uncomplicated and totally rude. Forget racing. Make the bikes that made the statement. There is only one guy that has that DNA. Whether or not EBR gets picked up by a friendly or not, I'd like to see Erik do some street design stuff. Call it Westwind II. Go back to the barn, so to speak. This is not criticism, it is aspiration. Build it and I will buy it and ride to Death Valley, Bonnevile and beyond. That's what it's all about. | ||

I've long been an advocate on doing a run of S1 redux models. 165hp . . . . In my sunset hers ,. . . .holds no interest. Fun does. Ergo my quest for a Triumph Trophy.....CL77 or and S1. Erik and the Elves . . . . With the tube frame & carbureted Lightning ....gave us pure, simple, fun to tinker with. . Enjoyment. | ||

The S1 is what put the motorcycle back in motorcycling for me. Couldn't agree more with you Court! I've got four Buells now, but sure would like to have my old S1 back!! | ||

You guys can have your play bikes; I want an S3-T. An honest Sport - Touring motorcycle. A bike that eats corners, yet is comfortable for 12 hour days. However, since I've been saying that for the past decade or so (actually, since 2002), I really don't think I'll see one. Pity. | ||

I saw a red Scrambler yesterday for the first time in the wild. Eye-arresting, but of course I thought, "Why red?" That tank is so reminiscent of the RT450 it looks weird not yellow. | ||

The S1 is, to me, the embodyment of what American Sport Motorcycling is all about! Ever since the article in Cycle World by Canet touting the prowess of the S1 to catch & overtake a more renowned motorcycle pretty much sold me on the virtues of American Motorcyling design fostered by one Erik Buell! These days, the S1 has become the forerunner of the 1190SX, which shares garage space with my '96 S1. Go EBR! |
