I am swapping tires on my uly and was attempting to clean the centuries of neglect from my rear wheel.
I have some pretty noticeable discoloration in the powdercoating.
Is there a fix or should I just give up now?

Based on my experience with Westley's Bleche Wite removing the exhaust staining from my 1125CR's back wheel (back when I had the OE muffler), I'd definitely recommend it. Hopefully it will work with your discoloration.

It has pleased many an 1125 owner,

Second on the Westley's. Works great. I would be careful with it around other surfaces as it's powerful.

Nate I second 1313's recommendation, wear gloves, the stuff is strong. but it will take it off and leave the P.C.

Another vote for Westley's. If that won't get it all off, you could try polishing with rubbing compound.

Just do NOT use Brake Cleaner or paint thinners. They will melt into the powder coating.

If the above suggestions don't get it done try Purple cleaner at about 50% in a solution of Dawn dish soap and water.

uhh looks like I already boned it with the brake cleaner then.
I guess I'll just give up on making it pretty and mount the tire.
It's usually covered in mud and crap anyways.

Was that the translucent blue on the wheels?

do not leave that bleach white on for long though. spray it on, scrub it good for a couple minutes, then DROWN the wheel while scrubbing it with something not used previously. that stuff is aggressive.

I found Mothers Aluminum polish to work quite well for removing stains off wheels.
