Or would they be considered Buffalo Dinosaurs? At any rate, the POS Dunflop American Elite rear has gone tits up. (I really don't like that tire at all and won't put another one on my bike) It's about down to the wear bars, so I think it'll have another 1,000 easy miles on it. After the Mile in Indy this weekend, I'm heading back towards Boston on secondary roads. I plan to go through Buffalo and see Don (Oz666) and spend a night or so there. While I'm there, I want to eat at the new Dinosaur BBQ in Buffalo. I haven't eaten at a Dinosaur since last December, and I'm feeling the lack. Would anyone here care to join us? It'll be either Monday or Tuesday of next week (the 13th or 14th) After eating that Pulled Pork sandwich at the Du Quoin Mile, I REALLY need some good BBQ.

This is just a feeler to see if there's any interest. I'll post more details as the time gets nearer.
(I wonder if they have BBQ Puffin on the menu?)

Duffs in Amherst. Medium wings & basket of fries. The second wing joint. The first, the Anchor bar isn't as good. Buffalo folk may argue.....

Not saying not to hit the Dinosaur, but as long as you are where wings were born.........

Stopped at the Dinosaur when we visited the falls a few weeks ago. For years I've heard you NE guys talking about it and dismissed it because, really, how good could New York BBQ be anyway? Well, I'll tell you. It's damn good BBQ. I've been all over the country and this stuff compares well with anything in St. Louis (great BBQ there).

It's not New York BBQ, it's Syracuse BBQ.

Syracuse, despite it's many problems, has a serious food attitude, and has been featured on shows like "Diners Drive Ins And Dives" multiple times.

The Dinosaur is just one of the most successful and spreading.

Now, Rochester NY, has it's small claim to fame as well. Jello was invented locally, ( in Le Roy, where the museum is ) but the big thing is the "plates" Originally the copyrighted "Garbage Plate" from Nick Tahoe's, many local eateries have their own version. http://www.garbageplate.com/

I admit it's a meal that The Michelle would NEVER allow in a school, but she'd eat it. I limit myself to a couple a year.

Also, there's an Airshow in Geneseo, this weekend. http://www.1941hag.org/

O.K., I'm in Buffalo. We're going to be at the Dinosaur at 6:30 this evening. Anyone who wants to is welcome to join us.

I tried to go to the one in Newark, but there is absolutely NO parking anywhere to be had anywhere near the place. Looks like the only way you can eat there is to take mass transit.

The Buffalo Dinosaur was OK, but there was something missing; I don't know exactly what. The food was good (I had a Tres Ninos with beans and beans for sides); the waitress was efficient (if not overly friendly), but the decor was kind of lacking in the motorcycle area. It didn't really FEEL like the Dinosaur. I left feeling a little unimpressed.

That's all right; I'm going to be passing through Syracuse tomorrow on my way east, and I should be there around mid day. I think I'll swing by the Mohawk Power & Light Building and pay my respects to Iron Mike and eat lunch at the original Dinosaur.
