edit, actually after the black back bumper and some smoked lights i might rethink the flares... hmmm

Oh no he has the sickness. Sounds like Jeep Creep to me.
The old girl let me down the other day. Fuel pump died on the drawbridge. A tow and $700 fixed that problem. Now on to rear axle seals and u joints. Guess thats why I have to work two jobs, seven days a week.

Well.... I would like to throat punch the guy that came up with the spare tire safety feature.

Do yourself a favor. If you have never dropped the spare tire down via the wonderful cable, crank, secondary safety piece of crap. Do it in the garage so you're not stuck on the side of the road in the rain, snow... sharknado... when the time comes to change the tire.

I did a little mod to mine and should never have to mess with it again as long as I own this truck.

So far so good! I really like the black.

Does anyone else post pics to Facebook just so they can copy and save them, then post to Badweb?

FB must compress them or something but it makes posting pics here a breeze.

Now you need a short hair, small diameter roller, to paint the 'silverado' emblem faces black while leaving the edges chrome.

Hey Vern!!

Need some help. This truck is a HUGE pain in the backside when it comes time to put gas in the tank. I can't put gas in any faster than a trickle. I can't even use the first click on the fuel pump handle!

What can I do?

check with g.m. about this issue. we have plenty of similar complaints with our products (jeep) & have updated parts to fix this. usually a filler neck issue but sometimes requires a new tank...

What he said.

It is possible that there was a 'silent bulletin', or a recall of some sort on a repair for the problem.

Was there any repaired body damage in the area of the gas filler?

Could also be a plugged charcoal filter on a vent cannister, or a bad vent valve. Any codes come up on a scan?

This thing has a hose inside a hose filler unit so that it can vent the "in tank air" back to the gas pump for filling the tank. When you put a cubic foot of gas in the tank it has to vent a cubic foot of air, in a perfect world.....supposedly back to the gas station tank.

I just happen to have one of those hoses off. I'll get a picture for ya as soon as I relocate my camera. It is in one of my vehicles.

This is a 2001 version of the same truck as yours. Things may be a little different on the newer model you have.

I have heard of these inner hoses collapsing before.

Pay no attention to the little hose, it is actually the vent for the rear differential.

You can see the charcoal filter in front of the tank.

If the truck has been on the jeep trails, or if mud dobber bees or spiders have visited, these vents could be plugged.

Amazon kicks ass when it comes to misc. parts and such.

Vent canister solenoid with filter is $136 bucks at the auto part store
$70 bucks on Amazon

Replacement headlights $240 bucks and up
$133 bills on the Zon with NO tax

WOOT!

That truck is getting a whole new life!

Mark,
Looks like I'm going to have to pass on your offer and once again WVBR. Life has a habit of getting in the way. Please pass those wheels on to someone else who might need them. Maybe next year.
Thanks man,
SteveH

I'd think that internal hose may be collapsed or kinked or the back vent parts are plugged.

Just trying to help you out... Did it sit for a while? For some reason, spiders love the smell of gas, so they can build nests/webs in the vent valves and all, blocking flow so the system can't vent properly as you fill it.

Spiders are dicks.

With the Jeeps, we had an issue with a vent valve in the evap system that wouldn't release pressure from the fuel tank as you filled it.

I HATE TO EAT CROW!!

I buy gas from Giant Eagle every time we earn a bunch of fuel perks.
The truck hold the most, so I take it along with a couple of 5 gal. cans to maximize my discount.

WELL.... today on my why home I decided to see if GM was full of it or not.

I stopped at a different gas station today and wouldn't ya know it. Gas went in as fast as I could pump it...

Just every now and then they get it right. Having been a technician for GM for several years I have seen a share of BS problem cover ups that buy them time until the fix can happen. This one has been out there for a while.

I am glad to see and easy inexpensive resolution to your particular issue.

All of that stuff I listed above, it'd be a good idea to inspect it.....but.....never mind.

Carry on.
