Weather was perfect, traffic was extremely light, the roads were debris and critter-free.

Follow that up with a good lunch at Two Wheels of Suches and we'll call it a good day.

Speed limits are just suggestions, right?

Question:
if you were arrested for some flagrant traffic violation; could the law use the above trip replay against you in court?

I own the hardware, and they don't know about it.

It's 100% concealed on the bike. I'm going to do a write up on the installation and all it's functions tonight when I get home from work.

Data can be accessed from any web browser, and there are apps for iPhone, Android, etc.

Dang, Matthew- didja have that gadget running when you and I were buzzing the N. GA backroads back in March?!

F's in "brake/speed/accel", 171 incidents for speed?!

VERY cool. I wonder what a gadget like that would do on No Rice's bike...

Color me jealous! Sure wish I was floating down the river in Helen about now, it's HAWTTT and sticky here in Mur-vil. Glad you had a good ridin' day.

I was trying to get it connected during Glitch Badness, but I had the wrong wiring harness... it took me until now to get the right one...

SUPER easy to hook up. I'll post up pictures later.

Ya know, I've lived here since 79, found TWO in 85, I've never lacked a bike, and yet I've never experienced Wolf Pen with new pavement.
Tell me it's as sweet as I imagine it to be.

Hey Dave- I'd just posted on the other new thread, "bucket list", poor fella had early onset Parkinson's, trying to figure out how to get to Sturgis and back, how to fabricate an outrigger setup to be safe...

I HATE to think of you not riding. I'll always appreciate the time, even if it was borderline lethal towards the front of the pack, ; ) when we rode up in NC for Little Switzerland...

I'm aware of specially trained service dogs that can sense seizures, low blood sugars, and other acute medical conditions, then alert to help- surely there's a way to rig up some kind of electrode sensor skullcap or something that you could wear that would allow you to ride every now and then... if there were any lead time at all prior to a seizure attack that some kind of sensor rig could alert in time...

The risks are probably too great, especially out on public roads... but one can dream, and sometimes dreams become reality.

If you signed away all legal issues, wonder if you could do a trackday?

Matthew, et al, sorry about the threadjack- but not really. Dave, I'd love to hear about you having a day out and back riding. ; )

Brad, its the new normal. I'm gonna trade the Buell for a golf cart, or 4 wheeler, or side by side...
Me too Mike, when I first rode it I hated it though. Back then I was on a KZ900...
Matt, Richard Russell is always good. Somewhere is a picture of us up there in November, when the ice was hanging down.

OK, here it is, mounted up in the rear storage box next to the Power Commander... Just a little bigger than a box of Tic-Tacs.

Only 3 wires needed from the harness to get a constant GPS telemetry from the bike, accessible from any internet enabled device.

I went straight to the battery with the red and black wires, and the white wire to the ignition circuit via the junction box under the front seat.

It does have a lot of other wires... these units are capable of a lot more than just tracking.

$80.00 buys the unit, and $20 per month gives continuous GPS tracking relayed by 3G connection on the Verizon network. Any "pings" that happen when there is no 3G signal are stored and sent later when connection is reestablished.

It's always on, in a low power state. You can always see your battery voltage from your phone or any web browser, so you'll know in advance if you need to run the engine.

I now own 4 of these units. The other 3 are plugged into the OBD2 ports on my van as well as my wife and daughter's cars.

Well, they're not a sponsor here so I'll refrain from posting a link, but if you just Google "awaregps" you'll find them.

Rather than me typing all about it, check out their website. I use 3 different forms of commercial GPS tracking at work, and to me this is actually better as well as being cheaper.

HOLY. CRAP...

I'm so old, I'm impressed by microSD in my crappy hone.

And, I'm depressed by the above statement.

My wife's car is at the dealer getting a software update and scheduled maintenance.

I can see everywhere they moved it, including inside the building. These things are dead-on accurate. I knew they were done with it several hours before they even called to say so.

If I go through the logs, I can tell when they unplugged the unit to access the OBD2 port, and the moment they plugged it back in.
