Loaded up.
Start the bike and open the garage door. The weather's fine!
See. All ready, except Matt Loose' truck broke and had to be towed home. That ain't cheap. He camped solo last year. It was my turn. |

Late night last evening made for some late arrivals to to Two_Seasons' Garage the next morning. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you Doris!
Most have departed for their homes or Road America. I'll have one more shake for the road. The saddest sound I know. |

this is a memory I will always cherish, one of many during homecoming! 1313 took me for a little Decal recon deployment and then to see this. The Quonset Hut home of Buell Motor Company from 1989 to 1993.

It was one of the actual race bikes. He carried a side stand in his backpack when riding it. I'll let Tod662 fill in the details if he wants. Regular history lesson there. He can tell you where the first second and third place bikes are. There was a lot of info shared this HC. |

I bought it not knowing a bunch about it from eBay cheap, but Brankin let me in on the history. Got it back together and running great. But divorce and my racing bug forced me to let it go to my good friend Todd P. Nice to see it around. So they made 13 of these and I had it at the Quail one year, and met two other owners-- what are the chances!! |

About time you got home. Yes indeed! I wonder how soon (late?) I will be in posting some pictures? I got some to post from my buddy Chris, and then I still have to get my pics off my phone. Hopefully this weekend this will all get remedied. Going away is FUN, but coming back and getting caught back up sure ain't... 1313 |

I found the easiest way for pictures on my phone is to email them one at a time to myself at 10% size. For my setup they will then post straight to badweb. |

Tomorrow night, I promise I will post my Homecoming 2015 pics. As well as the pics my buddy took. I got a fair amount caught up this weekend, but not quite as much as I expected (hoped)... They'll be worth the wait - especially for the Barn Built Buell crowd! First thing after work tomorrow night! 1313 |

To whet your appetites a bit, here are some pics that my buddy Chris took at Screamer's Garage Night. It was a nice tight group, but there's always room for more.
Sometimes the angle makes the shot.
That's right, a GREEN 1125R.
Some trinkets that Screamer has amassed over the years - definitely some gems in there.
Next up - after some processing - I'll finally post up my pics from my adventure, 1313 |

I hope they live up to expectations... As usual I show up earlier than most. What I saw upon arrival was not too inviting - neither was the rain that started in Winnetka, Illinois.
Since I get there early I had some time to check out some things in the area with some friends. At an area bike shop, the Icon 1000 custom.
After a day hanging out at Gus's (pictures covered well by others), and a quick visit to Hal's EBR, Thursday was the day to 'stand in the parking lot'. Due to some renovations my parents were having done to their house I was late in getting there and missed it all.
But after 'it' was done, there were some cool details to check out.
Rather than go with everyone else to hang out at Gus's, I suggested that Tod accompany me while I checked in on a decal project that I've been working on. My thought was that the Battle of Champion bikes decals were probably from the same source. We're not completely certain of that, even now, but nothing could prepare us for the discovery that lay awaiting for us behind this door.
We were told "I got 'some older stuff' upstairs in a box, let me go get it." I sure was not prepared for what it was that we actually stumbled upon, and we even got some samples for our collections of all things Buell.
Unknowingly, we stumbled upon the outfit responsible for making the original Buell Motor Co., Inc. decals. I only recall seeing RS and RSS style decals - both the "Motor Co., Inc" and "American Motorcycles" versions. Outside of original era-manufactured decals (which are most likely no longer useable), how bad would it be to get decals for your RS or RSS from the original manufacturer out of original (or original-type) materials. Yes, he can and will make decals for your RS or RSS! I will post this separately in the Barn Built Buells section for those interested and in need. After our serendipitous find, Tod and I made our way back to East Troy to meet up with the others for a bite at Roma's before hitting Screamer's Garage Night.
My pictures don't compress that nicely for posting, but if Ourdee hasn't NAILED Slingblade in this pic, I just don't know...
A 4 piston PM rear caliper adapted to an S2, it's all in the details (even though I probably missed more than I captured).
Friday morning was Two_seasons EXCELLENT breakfast. I was late, go figure, but thanks to one person who showed up after I did - I was not the last one there. What can I say, I'm not a morning person.
After breakfast and some local riding - in the 'fine' rain - I finally made my way to another buddies place closer to the racetrack. After a PHENOMENAL Friday night fish fry, we stopped at another bar and found this inside.
Saturday at the track was WET, WINDY and COLD.
Sunday was still cool and windy, but fortunately no longer wet.
For display only, but it did pass Tech Inspection just in case it needed to be used as a back up... Sorry for my delay in getting these up, 1313 |
