Just thought I'd throw it out there for fun.

This might be one of those times to say it- "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand."

AT THE RYMAN.

Most of the best seats are gone, but- there are still a few decent ones.

Tomorrow's the day I get a bit older, too... ; )

Whutya think, friends?

Kraftwerk! hahaha are they still around, and at the Ryman, now that is funny!

For those of you who have never had the opportunity to hear kraftwerk, here you go.
My personal opinion if that really matters, they are awful. If I had to sit through a concert I would go stark raving mad, or just sleep through it.

I "forfeited" my chance to buy Kraftwerk tickets when they played in L.A. at Disney Concert Hall a couple years back, still kicking myself. GO! Best birthday gift possible. Well, almost.

Mark, now THAT was funny!

RD, Enigma doesn't really compare. Thanks anyway.

Mack- dude, I KNOW it aint everyone's cuppa tea. If I buy 2 tickets, my first choice for companion would naturally be my GF- but, I'm still struggling to get her to go see the new Mad Max. A trip to Nashville for dinner and a show might be enough, but- Kraftwerk CERTAINLY isn't her type of "music non stop techno pop" ; )

Desert- I'm kinda leaning that way.

Kraftwerk at the Ryman? Isn't that kind on the order of, oh, I don't know, the Carpenters playing the Filmore East?

I still have their original albums and still pull them out once in a while. Autobahn still sounds great with a clean stereo and lots of volume!

They did the soundtrack for the movie "the Sorcerer", which is one of my favorite obscure movies.

Hugh- yeah, of all places the Ryman is definitely a strange choice... last time I was there I saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones with Chick Corea and other special guests.
I LOVE that place!

Didn't know they did that soundtrack, might have to look it up.

Brad- my memory gets faultier by the day; music for the Sorcerer was actually by another German electronic group, Tangerine Dream (I just checked).

No biggie, Hugh. Tangerine Dream was yet another strange band.

OK, decided against going. Had I bought tickets early enough, I'd feel OK about spending two Bennies, plus travel/parking/dinner/maybe lodging.

Overall, that day would have cost me the better part of $400. I can finish this post, then head to Amazon or some other online outfit and pick up all the CD's I desire for permanent addition to my collection and spend a VERY small fraction of that, and play them on my very nice Polk audio hi-fi whenever I want...

Still, I'd have LOVED to see them live.
