That's the plan. Then... not sure... None of the new touring rigs interest me. We tried a K1600GTL and although I loved it, my wife found the passenger accommodations miserable. Maybe if I get a chance to test the new "Exclusive" model with the improved passenger space? Too bad they didn't make it standard across the entire line.

I want a bike with a fixed (as opposed to a handlebar mounted) fairing so that eliminates MOST of the new touring models. The only one that comes close is the Victory Vision (good handling, excellent weather protection, my wife LOVED the passenger accommodations) but the saddle bags are HOPELESS.

Neither one of us care for the GoldWing (too much of a car, actually). And after what happened on October 15, 2009 it will be a cold day in HELL before I'd even look at a Road Glide.

You won't be putting another 50 miles on unless you fuel up

Actually, the fuel gauge is quite pessimistic. I have almost 70 miles left on the current tank before I start to sweat. I've gone 290 miles on a tank and took six gallons (meaning there was a smidge more than a half gallon left) but I usually top up at 250 miles.

Not in the same league. Sports Tourer, not a luxury tourer. My wife has some physical issues, so the plusher the better...

I tell you what we have been kicking around though... A Ural!!
