Just about time to start plannning for the annual ADK ride! So it looks like we will be doing the ride the third weekend in May, 15-17. I will contract the Holiday Inn we had a group rate with last year to see if they will work with us again. I asked for 20 rooms, so once I have the contract back I will post up the discount code. But as always feel free to stay where you like. I know many like the Fort William ONLY 73 days away! | ||

The Holiday Inn turned out to be a good place for dinner, too. Good food at a reasonable price, and specials. The Neptune is still okay for a nightcap. Seems so far away but sooner than you think. I need to do some stuff to the bike but with no garage I have to wait for tolerable weather to tackle anything. My vote is for no rain this year. | ||

Who is planning on coming up from the NJ area this year? I'd like to start planning my trip up for Friday. It looks like I have a few guys from the Binghamton area that are in as of now and they have been asking what the plan is so far. I have enjoyed meeting in Liberty the last 2 years and taking the back roads up with everyone. I'm more than happy to do that once again. If not I can plan a backroad trip up from here. | ||

Okay, not NJ but have still tried to meet for lunch, actually made it for ADK I. I have this penciled in on the calendar but have to finalize some things to commit. If The bike is ready and I get to mark the date in ink I would once again like to meet for lunch and follow the group up from there. Years one and two met in the Hunter Mtn. area, year three IDK as I didn't get to leave home until almost 9PM in the rain. So that's the quandary right now Dave, do you have any ideas on that part of the ride? | ||

I'm open for meeting in Hunter again. I was there for year 2, and last year it was just Dave, Fred and I that came up because of the monsoon on Friday, lol. Froggy, are you planning on riding up this year or trucking it up again? | ||

I know it's still a month away but I don't care, I am so fricken excited for this ride every year. It's an amazing time with great people, fantastic roads and just a blast all around! I hope more people can join us and see what an awesome weekend we have. | ||

I submitted the event in a local ride guide for the hell of it. Will be interesting to see if it draws any interest. Also tried to prod Dan (Thumpe) from Middletown into showing up since it would be a short ride to get there. He's usually busy this time of year though. | ||

Routes can be flexible, too. We try to keep the group sizes low to reduce separation due to traffic lights, busy intersections, slow cagers, etc. If there's enough interest, we can chose common destinations such as Whiteface for a scenic break and lunch at the ADK Café as has been suggested. Then groups can form up to approach these from different directions. Of course this happened to me literally, two years ago the group I was in took a wrong turn. The next thing we know we're on a street going one way and one of the other groups passes us going the opposite direction. Whatever you do, enjoy the ride. | ||

The Facebook page is the best way as of now to keep up to date on this ride. Seems to be easier to access and have a bigger audience. |
