I am sure there are other Buell riders who also own Dynas and thought sharing best improvements would be of interest. Some of the best modifications I have made to a Fat Bob thus far include: HD gas emulsion shocks (big improvement); Screamin Eagle 204 cams (similar power curve to what came in the S1 with 85hp and 105tq at the rear wheel); Joker serrated wide pegs (work like small platforms); Get-a-Grip grips; and Hayden M6 (primary chain was too tight with the HD auto tensioner). Many other changes, but these were the ones I felt had the biggest impact. Wondering what others have found that works well and is worth the investment.

What year is your fatbob? May be an early model to have used the 204's otherwise you went work a smaller them stock cam of its from the last few years.

Did you do high compression pistons or thinner head gaskets? That really wakes them up. The stock motor is in need of more compression to get them going. It's very low from the factory. I usually throw some thinner gaskets in to bump up the compression unless I can get someone to go for the pistons.

What tuner are you using?

It is a 2013, but lift is just slightly higher on the 204s than the stock cams and duration is significantly longer than stock. The post Rushmore cams may be a different story, I know many of the Rushmore bikes have stronger cams than the original 103s, I believe they are similar to the 255s which would have higher lift than the 204 with shorter duration. The bike is much stronger than it was (both seat of the pants and by dyno). Have not yet bumped compression, but do intend to at some point, and it sounds like it will make a bigger difference than I was expecting. I have the thinner gaskets (.30) sitting in the garage, but also considering a 107 displacement bump. Using an SE Super Tuner.

Best Dyna I ever saw or rode belongs to a former Badweb denizen Grndskpr, Roger's Dyna Sport has a big bore kit, Paioli forks, Berringer brakes, & if I remember correctly Fournales shocks.

It goes handles & stops amazingly well.

I'm rebuilding my brother's '93 FXD here in the shop. It used to be my Dad's bike, and it was the bike both my brother and I learned to ride on. When I rebuilt it for my Dad after his wreck on Run For The Wall, we added things like an Ultima 58mm inverted wideglide front end, 12" mini apes, Thunderheart 6 piston front caliper, and bullet forward controls. It's a very "fun" bike to cruise in town, but not very comfortable or powerful. My brother rode it almost 500 miles in slush and rain to bring it here though lol. Adding Feuling lifters, EV3 cam, S&S reed valve, 10:1 Wisecos and freshening the heads and carb. Should be a MUCH better runner once done.

S/e race tuner works very well. Honestly better than most any aftermarket currently. And more reliable.

Of your taking the heads off for those gaskets I'd check into the s/e 1.725 rocker arms. They seem to wake it up a little more too...

Heads are indeed off, but won't be changing rockers. Still using stock springs, so high ratio rockers are a no-go, as lift is limited to .500, which is what the cam has. The cam does have a bit more duration as well though. Limited time and money, so just trying to get it done at this point. Bike has over 50,000 miles so it was due for a refresh. I rebuilt the transmission about 6 years ago, so far so good there. BTW happy birthday Tim!

Good to have validation on the tuner and will look into the rockers. Also just installed an SE clutch spring, which does not feel much heavier than stock, but should handle some additional mods.

I ment on Tom's motor Ross :-)

And the stock spring will normally hold over 100 horse and more torque no problem, so you should be good. Many times we leave the stock spring in because people complain about a firmer clutch lever. But if it's in and your fine with it, even better!
