I became one today. Bought this for my wife's Christmas/Birthday/Mother's Day present:

Interesting how much differently scooter riders are treated by other two wheeled conveyance riders.

My wife noticed it right away.

DANG that's a neat looking scoot, J!

Don't recognize the make/model at all, but with that "tour pak" and the expected underseat storage, it should "haul the groceries"... so to speak.

Where in Nashvegas was it parked? I'm guessing the newly kewl East area somewhere, about 2-3 blocks up from Gallatin Road...

Post up a pic of your wifey doing a burnout! ; )

I try to wave at anything on two wheels with a motor. Even wave at bicyclist especially the those not old enough to have a license. They usually have the biggest smiles.

That is a Kymco Like 200i. Taiwanese built, very high quality scooter. Scooters are the ultimate urban transportation. I am now on my third one. I use it for all my local errand, general shopping, and local rides.

My newest is a Honda PCX 150. Good underseat storage, and with a tail case, is very handy. Twist and go, near 100 MPG fuel economy. Cruises easily at 55-60. Threw on a couple of farkles. Took it for a 400 mile day tour last week.

Scoots are awesome. They make any regular motorcycle feel like a riding a wallowing wildebeest.

I too wave at everybody most of the time. And most of the time, I get waves back (except from those florescent yellow BMW ADV Rider types, who don't wave at anyone), I even get waves from the Harley batwing people on the scooter, but not on my 250 Ninja....go figure.

I wave at everything too, including police cars. They are watching me on a Reactor Yellow Cyclone anyway, so why not be friendly?

I'm amused sometimes by the ego group 'tudes of riders. I often park in the obvious gap between hogs & sport bikes at the local burger joint.

Yeah, I really like the looks of the PCX150, but I couldn't find one in the price range I was looking for.

This scooter is a 2011, but it only had 51 miles on the clock. Recent service in November.

I got it for $1,700.

Wow- I moved away from my birthplace, Nashville, WAAY back in 1990, to try lernin at UTK, here in the Scruffy City.

Obviously I know nuthin' anymore about Nashville, kinda makes me sad... I'd love to pretend to be a tourist there for a week, take a shot at catching up on things there.
Plus, that Pedal Tavern is something I really would like to try out!

Good catch on that scoot! For that kind of $$$, and 51 miles, can't go wrong!

Funny, but for the same $$$, I was putting the hairy eyeball on this recently- all dude put on the ad title was "TN title", nothing descriptive, but-
it's a 1980 Honda C70, pretty dang clean!

Oh well.

Nice score FB!
I'd ride that... I've been waiting for cheap Honda PCX to show up, myself.

Anything with 2 wheels is okay to me.
In the garage with my '99 S3 is a 2007 Vespa GTS250, and just picked up a 2011 Vespa S150 with 5 miles on it for my wife!
Definitely more waves when riding the Vespa.
When I'm on the Buell, H-D guys hardly ever acknowledge my existence, and sportbike guys usually half wave then strain their necks trying to figure out what the heck I'm on.

When I ride the S1 both sportbike riders and "bikers" wave. A lot of H-D guys think it's a custom sporty and the sportbike guys mistake it for a Ducati in passing.

The DR650 gets no respect...but the lack of waving is refreshing.

The wife wants a classic Stella...not one of the new iterations.

I'd rather she get something a bit cooler...

If she has to get a scooter it'd be fine. I don't have to ride it.

Get an old vespa then stuff a Polini race kit in it, street sleeper! A friend in France builds and races them. Tuning takes them to around 40hp.

A few years ago, my oldest daughter bought one of those Vespa GT300Is. Those things are kinda fun, she could keep up til about 75mph, or a steep hill or headwind.

In my garage, for scale between my EGC and Uly.
Daughter sold it last year when she became a mom. Someone got a hella deal. Sorry about the giant-sized photo.
