Went to MC Daily, read the piece about Qatar race results, then-

https://vimeo.com/ondemand/theghp

Of course, very little should be inferred as to the quality of a film by the trailer, BUT- there are some choice quotes, first and foremost from the Japanese custom builder...

Seems like it's worth a $6.99 rental! I was underwhelmed after watching "Why We Ride"- a good flick, but too infomercially, didn't get my blood pumping like a good bike flick should.

On a slight aside- who's got to see "Hell Ride" from a few years back? IIRC, that was Dennis Hopper's last appearance on film before he died...

Technical quextion: I've been doing Netflix and my Amazon Prime on my smart TV, not yet tried Hulu and the plethora of other options (mostly due to laziness)-
how big a deal is it to fire up Vimeo streaming to my smartboobtube?

I know, probably just push the right buttons on the remote, submit a non-important CC#...

Does you smartboobtube support vimeo? If not, you'll need a streaming box that supports it. AppleTV, Roku, etc.

Hoot, yes- it picks up the wifi router signal for Amazon and Netflix already.

Amazon and Netflix are not vimeo. You need a vimeo app to stream vimeo. Several set top boxes support this app. Roku, AppleTV, probably the new Amazon box. Some game consoles may even have a client for it.

Your TV may have one too...not sure how those work, or how they're updated. The Roku has apps you download, the AppleTV has the ones they give you, and they're adding new stuff all the time...which sucks, because I have to go hide the ones I don't want to see. I'd rather they let me show the ones I want vs. having to go and hide the ones I do not.

Forget boxes and rokus and stuff. Forget equipment costs, memberships, fees and monthly charges.
Download KODI.

Don't ask me any tech questions about it because I've only had it for a couple of months but HOLY MOTHER OF MOVIES AND SHOWS AND STUFF FOR FREE!!

Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) is freaking awesome. I've never seen anything like it that works as well as it does.

Interesting topic. Ok, so explain to me why Kodi is better than Roku.

I tried plex, and it looked kinda cool, but at the end of the day it was just annoying to live with, even before they started wedging unwanted software and behaviors into it.

I have a linux box on a big screen in the basement already, and it has a chromecast on it, which all works fine.

Anything that is pretty much designed to flagrantly violate copyright law isn't something I would consider a plus. I don't want something that just enforces every last whim of the copyright holders (like a cable company DVR), but I'm not going to run a bittorrent based flat out steal everything solution.

I've thought about getting some kind of Rasberry Pi type solution, but then I look at my Roku, which just does everything I want whenever I want flawlessly, and think "why bother with something else"...

Now if it has a digital receiver and a DVR capability for over the air broadcasts... *NOW* you have my attention...

+1 Patches

I've known Tyler Malinky for a few years now. I knew of his Bonneville pursuits but not about this bike or the film. Very cool.

Thanks.

I enjoyed that trailer, I particularly relate to the final quote of it.
