Hart InterCivic and H.I.G. Capital connection to Mitt Romney.

Diebold Election Systems, Inc. Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold, announced that he had been a top fund-raiser for President George W. Bush.

I can see how there can be a lot of voter fraud going on.

If you are making an accusation, then submit your proof. Otherwise, it is simply your opinion.

Stay on target or start your own thread. One fails to communicate when emotion overwhelms the message.

Trying to have a conversation with Patches is a bit like reading random bumper stickers as you travel down the road. Zero continuity of thought, and very little substance. It's kind of a shame he wont put some effort into his thoughts here. He might have some worthwhile points if he would go beyond a bumper sticker slogan. Or maybe not. Hard to tell.

Sifo, I think that is part of the problem on both sides.

"Bumper stickerism" is what we have on both sides rather than discourse. Throw in a healthy helping of emotionalism and a dash of class envy and lack of personal responsibility, and it's no wonder we can't have a proper discussion.

Facts become irrelevant when arguing ideologies. Economic principles, human nature, rule of law, sense of fairness all irrelevant.

This is by design.

Truth there, Read any news article, then the commentary by readers after wards, with in 10 posts it seems to degenerate in to name calling and " Bumper stickerisim "
The problem is where to get good factual information that is not sifted to support an agenda.

I hope this cycle that the republicans can field a decent candidate for president, so far I am not excited by any of the earlier prospects.

My position is that Obama and Hillary are bad for the country. Their destructive ideologies weaken America and further the centralization of power in the Federal government.

I understand that some of the Republicans share similar philosophies but it is a matter of degree.

ANY Republican nominee in 2016 will be better than Hillary.

I tend to believe that's true... Until it's not. While it's hard for me to imagine the R's putting up a worse candidate, I keep finding out I am lacking in my imagination.

Well, perhaps not when it comes to Hillary. She has proven herself to be just as unworthy of the office of President as BO.

I don't think you'll find many advocating for Jeb.

That said, I don't know that advocating for someone who later commits a crime makes one a member of a crime syndicate.

Then again, it's not like a sitting president would personally benefit in sweetheart real estate deals by helping criminals in Chicago, right?

How in the heck did Rosalynn Carter wind up doing a photo-op handshake with Gacy? I thought he was pretty much a nobody until they started digging in his basement. I had a good friend who live on Gacy's block when all that went down.

Not a fan of Jeb, but that piece is really weak. Do business with enough people, you will wind up doing business with some scummy people. That's just the way it is. No way around it. The ties made to Jeb in that article are extremely weak. It's not like he's launching a political campaign in the basement of a former terrorist or something. This sort of garbage reporting is a huge part of the problem in politics. Of course to beat up Jeb on the issues would require beating up on some very liberal ideals. They certainly don't want to go down that road!

To borrow from Patches reasoning: John Wayne Gacy was a Democrat.....ergo.....(fill in your reasoned conclusion)

Here are some potential answers:

1. Gacy is a serial killer.
2. The Carters are serial killers.
3. All Democrats are serial killers.
4. Gacy was a Democrat.

Found the story on the Carter/Gacy photo... http://historicalmeetups.tumblr.com/post/297671569 8/rosalynn-carter-demure-first-lady-meets-john

Kind of a good example of the point I was trying to make about the Jeb Bush article. Deal with enough people, and you will deal with some real scum bags.

Or maybe Rosalynn Carter was a serial killer. I'm not sure what to believe now.

PS: Are you going to answer my question about who you voted for? I am only asking to better understand where your position(s) are being triangulated from. Right now, you appear to be coming from outer space.

A little more Passive Aggression mixed with anger. I present cogent arguments and am respectful to non Trolls. You fly all over the map.

Am I to assume you are unwilling or unable to admit who you voted for? Your audience would better understand you but you appear to prefer obfuscation. It is your right but it is a rather unintelligent stance on a political thread.

Gore, Kerry, Obama, Obama.

But who knows? He is afraid to say. It might force him to take a reasoned stance.

I would hazard a guess that it might make him have to defend his own record. Since he appears to prefer not to, well, it'll just be a long wait for a cogent answer.

I won't even argue with your opinion.

There are, however, a few folk who don't suck as much as most, and it's our freaking jobs as citizens to choose.

Never mind the b.s. of "it's only one vote". Or that the Electoral college system makes your individual pick useless if, like me, you live in a "locked up" State.

One vote has made a difference. Plus, to quote
An anti-motivational poster ( despair.com )
"No single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood."

Or perhaps better yet "politicians are like diapers. They need changing a lot and for the same reasons. "

Despair is a sin. Choosing not to vote is choosing to let the bastards win without exercising your non-violent anonymous shot at fixing the problem.

Besides, you can always get a free ride and a drink on election day!
