Interesting seat, you can probebly sleep on it too.

from the article:
We knew how the bike would look and the overall impression was that things went too far in crazy territory. High-res photos have now surfaced and the bike no longer seems THAT wacky. Of course, we’re looking at a design exercise, a prototype created for the sole purpose of trying to see what wild approaches might lead to.

Yamaha "Root"?

Should've left it buried in the ground.

With the seat so high above the bars I'd have to ride it your driveway so you can help me get off that thing.

Frame and swingarm and exhaust look awfully....Buellish.

Funny how a design that was poo-poo'd when it came out a dozen years ago, is now the norm.

It'd be great for an entry into an Extreme Ironing event, maybe on the Dragon?

I'd be interested to see anyone try to stay on that seat when they grab a handful of brake in a hurry. It'd be like sliding down a very short bannister.

OK, its an exercise in design so for me at just 5'6", cantilever a nice padded seat half way from the tank to the shock off the top tube, give me some pull backs and I'll have the perfect bobber/chopper. Or just make it a cafe racer. After all it is and exercise in design. HA! I know, I know, I have no vision. Bob

Between the seat and the solid front wheel, I hate to think about what adverse aerodynamics may exist.

Dunno why, but an alternate name popped into my head...

"Yamaha Kazoo"

Saw Stevie Wonder on Letterman last night, maybe that's why.

I think it's wrong to disguise the seat as a diving board.

Solid front wheel won't make a shit's worth of difference unless you hit crosswinds strong enough to blow the BIKE off the road.

I always got that objection when selling a FatBoy - any wind strong enough to make that wheel feel it, will be strong enough to make the bike move first. Anything less than what it takes to move the bike? Won't affect the wheel. Centrifugal force overcomes any mild-to-moderate wind input.

Yeah Joe- most of our HD customers won't run speeds where rotational velocity, or wind, affects steering input.
All those lost doo-rags...

That's why we love Mr. Buell, right?!

Maybe they'll work up a custom-fit program... "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson...

Get a paperback... read it on a latter day midnight.

Experience with bicycles tells me different. Of course an 18 pound bicycle is probably more sensitive to those unwanted steering inputs than a FatBoy. A naked twin like what is pictured is probably somewhere in between.

One thing that surprised me very much about fatboy rims is that they are actually very light.
They only LOOK heavy.

Also +1 on the snowcrash advice. Smart wheels is a technology I look forward to.
Not to mention "reason" or the rat things!
