Anyone want a 92 XJ Cherokee? 4.0/auto/4x4/4 door. Solid, mostly straight (deer encounter, one bent door left), 2" lift, runs great, I just...don't drive it now that I have the WK2 diesel.

PM me if you're interested. It's in MD.

Joe, I talked to a couple of my buddies about your Jeep. They need more information. Throw a couple current pics up here when you get a chance.

Looks like we may be in for a tough long winter. Time to get the 4x4 Tahoe together. Current Suburban is a 2X. That is no good. My Jeep and Scout will never see the salt of the winter highways. They are too good for that.

I'll get the moss off it and take some pics this weekend...it's a solid little truck, I just don't use it anymore. That, and/or the YJ, are probably going to leave this season. I have the Ram 2500 diesel, and the new WK2, for when I have to go somewhere in the snow. Just spent the last few days winter-prepping the 230k mile Ram for winter - fresh undercoat, POR-15 on the drivers door bottom, fresh fluids, coat of wax. And, the WK2 has an extended warranty for like 10 more years

Quick summary of the XJ: 230k or so. 4.0 EFI / auto, no smoke, no leaks, no fluid consumption. 4 door. Ex-power company truck so it's BASE - crank windows, manual locks, no dome light switches on the back doors. Tan cloth. Headliner cloth is gone, backer board/foam still there. Interior is dirty but no rips, should clean up with elbow grease. Changed the dash from stock speedo/fuel/idiot lights to Limited-spec cluster - speedo, tach, fuel, oil, temp, battery. 2" lift (front spacers, rear helpers). Currently has worn 31's on it - they fit, but rub at full steering lock. 6" of rust on one rocker; filled the rocker with spray foam to keep new water out, gonna flash/sand/paint here soon. Dented rear door (driver side). Solid floors, good frame, just a good truck that I don't use.

Joe did the Jeep sell yet?

I spoke with one of the guys that was looking and he found the Jeep pick up of the XJ style(I don't know it's letter indicator). I was under the impression he wanted the suv, but Nooooo!

Nope, not sold. Just got "new-sed" wheels and tires for it. 15" with all-season tires that just passed MD inspection. Nothing aggressive, but they fit and clear without rubbing. I'll probably put rotors on it too since it has a pulsing, I think it's from sitting but as cheap as rotors are, it'll help with any test drives!

Should anyone tell Lemon that the steering wheel is placed wrong?

We have purchased 6 acres a few miles down the road in a lower tax area and may build a new house.

It will be a considerable downsize as far as the house is concerned.

BUT!!

In my best pirate voice...

Rrrrrr... There be a pole barn on the horizon

Well she needs to show up around new years to help make my Jeep "flex" a lot better!
Just pulled the trigger on a set of Savvy control arms. I have been eyeballing them for about 2 years...

They have "Johnny Joints" on both ends.
Can you say SUPER FLEX!!

and I did something else. I removed all the flares, hood and winch hoop. I just didn't like the way it looked.

Indiana, I think you can still tow with a rope there.

Spent the morning removing the ABS sensors and their wiring.
Also had to move the emergency brake line and such.
Sprayed all the nuts and bolts with PB Blaster. I can't wait until the big brown van man shows up!

When I first moved to Florida you could push'em down the road with a rope!(took a little more skill and a few more beers than just simply towing one)

Spent Sunday removing all the ABS lines that were attached to the control arms.
Also had to remove the emergency brake lines from their holder. That sounds easy but was bit of a pain in the backside.

....and the fact that I only spent 3 bucks at the car wash after the last time I went wheeling didn't help

Torque. More cubic inches equal greater pulling torque.

My son has always liked the way my Jeep has worked with it's Chevy 400 small block. It will climb really steep stuff with ease and pull most full size trucks twice it's weight around our mud pit.

So lately he has been accumulating parts for his '86 Chevy long bed pickup with a 305 automatic. He now has a 454 that we are going to rebuild, and he has decided to go with the heavy duty "granny gear" four speed rather than the automatic that has been in the truck. He did a six inch lift with one ton axles on 37" tires a couple of years ago.

This should be interesting. I'm guessing it will be able to do nearly everything my Jeep will do except fit into a short space. He sure is tired of the 305 bogging out in tight steep spots. With it's posi rear the 305 does not even have enough power to spin the rear tires in sticky mud when it is in 2wd low range.

I just get way too excited about the little things. Swapped the fog light bulbs in my Grand Cherokee tonight, to 2500K ambers. Wow, what a difference. HID's are nice and crisp and bright, but they really bleach stuff out - these ambers add just enough depth of color to things to really make the road come alive.

Now I just need to find someone who wants to enjoy (read: buy) either my XJ or YJ...or both. Too damn many vehicles 'round here...

Define "right"...not a giveaway, but not perfect either.

http://westmd.craigslist.org/cto/4860731209.html

naturally that's the "joe blow advertised price"...but it's too good and solid to give away for *too* cheap. Bring a decent offer and they can leave with a clear title and a key. : )
