Blake I'll have to check on which insecticide is the probable culprit.
There are mites, fungus, and other bee killers. I ask a lot of questions when I see the county's bee guy. ( private bee keeper who volunteers his time to keep hives healthy ) I'm not an expert.

That's one of the problems with politicized "science".
Yes the anti-Nico guys are using tactics to put their agenda up front. That's a sign of liars, usually, but the same tactics can be used by otherwise honest folk.......how can you tell?

The Climate Con guys hurt science's reputation and that brings to mind "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".

When a REAL disaster looms and quick action is really needed, how can you tell it from the lies the Rachel Carson Cultists tell?

We will need careful screening of the meat, those pigs are absolutely filthy.

It's official! 2014 is the warmest year on record.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20150116/us-sci--h ottest_year-b64ea00652.html

Francis said with the margin of error it doesn't matter as much if 2014 was the warmest or second, third or sixth — what matters is that there is a "clear, consistent and incontrovertible" warming of Earth.

Translation, "it doesn't matter if we lie, as long as we get money and power from you idiots."

Of course the Evil Obviously Neo-Nazi Deniers think different.

http://www.climatedepot.com/2015/01/16/scientists- balk-at-hottest-year-claims-we-are-arguing-over-th e-significance-of-hundredths-of-a-degree-the-pause -continues/

So I will remain on Record here. "2015 is the warmest year on record." according to NASA.

No reason to wait for data if you just have to massage it to death to get the results you are paid for.

You may have noticed that the graph starts in one of the coldest times in the second half of the 20th century.

Cherry picking start & stop times in such graphs lets you lie with pictures.

Start that graph in 1935 and get a different picture.....or 1998....2010.....1450?

To be fair, the satellite data happens to start in 1979. Not really cherry picking. Very convenient for folks like Al Gore. Also very convenient that the instrument record happens to start during the little ice age period.

Anyone who doesn't understand these coincidences with the temperature records suffers from ignorance. Anyone who wont acknowledge these coincidences after being made aware, suffers from dishonesty. There are a lot of dishonest people who have been pushing the global warming idea, who try to get you to ignore the fact that both of these temperature records happen to start during natural cold cycles. I have no respect for that sort of dishonesty.

http://pjmedia.com/andrewklavan/2015/01/26/all-of- the-leftists-all-of-the-time/

For well over a decade now, climate alarmists have been claiming that snow would soon become a thing of the past. In March 2000, for example, “senior research scientist” David Viner, working at the time for the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia, told the U.K. Independent that within “a few years,” snowfall would become “a very rare and exciting event” in Britain. “Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he was quoted as claiming in the article, headlined “Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past.” The very next year, snowfall across the United Kingdom increased by more than 50 percent.

The IPCC has also been relentlessly hyping the snowless winter scare, along with gullible or agenda-driven politicians. In its 2001 Third Assessment Report, for example, the IPCC claimed “milder winter temperatures will decrease heavy snowstorms.” Again, though, the climate refused to cooperate. The year 2013, the last year for which complete data is available, featured the fourth-highest levels on record, according to data from Rutgers University’s Global Snow Lab…

After the outlandish predictions of snowless winters failed to materialize, the CRU dramatically changed its tune on snowfall. All across Britain, in fact, global-warming alarmists rushed to blame the record cold and heavy snow experienced in recent years on — you guessed it! — global warming. Less snow: global warming. More snow: global warming. Get it? Good.

The same phenomenon took place in the United States just last winter. As record cold and snowfall was pummeling much of North America, warming theorists contradicted all of their previous forecasts and claimed that global warming was somehow to blame. Among them: White House Science “Czar” John Holdren. “A growing body of evidence suggests that the kind of extreme cold being experienced by much of the United States as we speak is a pattern we can expect to see with increasing frequency, as global warming continues,” he claimed.

That assertion, of course, is exactly the opposite of what the UN “settled science” IPCC predicted in its 2001 global-warming report, which claimed that the planet would see “warmer winters and fewer cold spells, because of climate change.”

Just think, once the earth is warm again, with modern DNA technology, we'll be able to see the second rise of the dinosaurs. I always liked the scene where Fred Flintstone gets an order of ribs so big it tips his car over. What will the bag limit be for triceratops, and will we be allowed to hunt them with recoilless rifles?

All I can say is, modern technology plus dinosaurs....

Which would you rather have, a snow shovel, or a tyrannosaurus with laser cannons??

Above are 2 takes on the current disease trends. I'm pretty solid in the pro-vaccination camp, think they should be as safe as possible, ( preservatives, etc. ) but know that there is no way to be 100% safe, ever. Some people who get a measles vaccine will get the measles, either because they are exposed and the vaccine didn't work for them, others because the vaccine gave them the disease.

That's why an Ebola vaccine is going to take time, some people who get a hypothetical vaccine are going to die from it. Period. Humans are too variable to predict 100%.

Climate change is real... The Senate has so Voted.

The fact that the climate does, in fact change, has nothing to do with the scientific value of having a bunch of millionaires vote on a subject. Zero.

Oh, did I mention the Pope has also decided on the subject?

more on vaccinations...

Is it possible that the "rise in autism" is actually a diagnostic issue, not due to real world experience? Or is autism caused by an environmental factor? I don't know, Barry knows less, ( AFAIK he has had zero science courses in his entire college life ) and those who are emotionally invested know only what they believe.

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2015/02/02/did-obama-adv isor-who-slammed-christie-on-vaccines-forget-about -obamas-anti-vaxx-comments/

Just to catch you up, the Brit Doctor who started the whole "Autism is caused by vaccinations" bit has had his research reviewed, and it's total crap. No science at all. So while we don't know that the preservatives in a vaccine do not absolutely cause autism, there is at THIS TIME NO EVIDENCE AT ALL that it does.

I too have a bit of emotional connection to this, since my back yard neighbors are a Home for Autistic kids. I hear them all the time. One reason I have a multi acre yard maze is to give them something interesting to look at. ( the other reasons include, but are not limited to: I'm under the approach path to the airport, I enjoy the challenge, it saves me time when mowing, and makes it less mindless, and it's how I can find my house on Google Earth. )

Regarding vaccinations for kids, I think the parents should have a say so.
However, that choice should entail responsibility for any consequences.
If your unvaccinated kid starts an epidemic you should be financially responsible for the medical bills incurred by those infected, and those that they infect. Criminal negligence may also come into play if someone is severely damaged enough during that process.
When the kids become adults, they can choose to get vaccinated, or assume the civil and criminal responsibilities.

This is a case where pure libertarian principles and reality are in conflict. The only reason we do not have periodic plagues in the civilized world is vaccination.

Smallpox is almost extinct. ( it does live on in former Soviet labs, test areas ( now accessible in a former Soviet "republic" ) and the occasional incident in the most backwards places on Earth.....like Pakistan )

I lean towards demanding vaccination for the worst diseases, but it gets murkier when they want mass vaccination for v.d.

And you have to keep vaccinating for diseases now rare or you are wide open to their return with devastating results.
