I would be just as outraged if the Toronto & Montreal tv stations falsely accused GL of racist murder if he had to kill someone beating him to death. I dunno about the high regard part. Might even contribute to his legal defence fund if the PM jumped in and tried to use him to gain power through hate. George's life has been trashed by evil men with their own agenda. I have no idea if that means on overhand zinger, or knocked it over on the dinner table and it rolled toward her. What really happened? None of us know. The reality is that this is just a domestic dispute. Probably thousands of cases of this daily. This case is being covered by the news for a single reason. They get to further trash Zimmerman. | ||

Looks like there's a good amount omitted from the CBS story. I'm shocked I tell you! SHOCKED! Zimmerman denies throwing bottle at ex-girlfriend Sounds like a pretty typical domestic argument that you would never have even heard of had the girl friend not been pulled over for driving without her lights on. Well that and the fact that it's George Zimmerman. It seems pretty clear that she was NOT hit with a wine bottle. Again, I don't know what DID happen, but it certainly shouldn't be worth of national news. This belongs in the local police blotter. | ||

The problem with what was done in this instance is that Zimmerman, again, is getting trashed through selective reporting. Once the half truth is out there, it becomes worthwhile putting out the other half for people to see. Of course, this can be done without engaging GL. The one thing I don't understand is that GL was threatened with being banned if he continued with the threats, which he did. It was responded to at the time. Was he banned? What does that mean if he keeps popping up again. Not that it really bothers me either way, other than he does continue to be nothing more that a troll. | ||

The trolls actually serve a useful purpose (within limits). We do a pretty good job of debunking troll jobs, and I generally learn things from the troll response threads. I think it's also good to learn to be as unoffendable as possible. Plus, the most effective way to discredit a lot of trolls is simply to let them speak and offer succinct and correct responses. Not that I would shed a tear if a troll got banned... |
