Judicial Watch Lawsuit Forces Release of DOJ Emails Showing IRS’s Lois Lerner Met with DOJ Officials Just Before 2010 Elections DECEMBER 09, 2014
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released internal Department of Justice (DOJ) documents revealing that former IRS official Lois Lerner had been in contact with DOJ officials about the possible criminal prosecution of tax-exempt entities two full years before what the IRS conceded was its “absolutely inappropriate” 2012 targeting of the organizations. According to the newly obtained documents, Lerner met with top Obama DOJ Election Crimes Branch officials as early as October 2010.

RECOUNT UPDATE: It has been reported that Martha McSally will be the Congresswoman-elect in Arizona's 2nd Congressional District even after the 133-ballot-recount results come in later this month. Arizona's Secretary of State, Ken Bennett, who opposed Barber's recount efforts said, 'I expect the totals could change a little bit, but I don't think it will change the outcome.' The last two counties in AZ-2 will report their recount results to an Arizona judge around December 16th or 17th, with an official winner announced shortly after!

Certainly an interesting day . . . .I'm taking a look at the NY Times and about every article, they are coming up about every 30 minutes, decries the "torture".
They seem to be forgetting that the tactics started under Bile Clinton . . and in 2002 had the unswerving support of Senator Diane Feinstein..
They also seem to have forgotten that there have been two prior investigations . . the only difference is that their results were not made public.
Funny . . .how some folks' memories seem to be influenced by public opinion.

Sadly, the 18 month investigation into the IRS targeting of conservative groups isn’t over, and it may be worse than anyone thought. A federal judge has broken loose more emails that the DOJ had surely hoped would never surface. The picture it reveals isn’t pretty. The documents prove that Lois Lerner met with DOJ’s Election Crimes Division a month before the 2010 elections.
It has to be embarrassing to the DOJ, which may not be the most impartial one to be investigating the IRS. In fact, the DOJ withheld over 800 pages of Lerner documents citing “taxpayer privacy” and “deliberative privilege.” Yet these internal DOJ documents show Ms. Lerner was talking to DOJ officials about prosecuting tax-exempt entities (yes, criminally!) two years before the IRS conceded there was inappropriate targeting.
[The] DOJ’s Mr. Pilger admitted that DOJ officials met Ms. Lerner in October 2010. Moreover, according to congressional investigators, a Lerner email from October 5, 2010 shows the IRS sent the FBI and DOJ a “1.1 million page database of information from 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations” that contained confidential taxpayer information. [emphasis mine - FB]
In her May 2013 answer to a planted question about the alleged targeting of Tea Party and conservative groups, Ms. Lerner suggested that the alleged targeting occurred due to an “uptick” in 501 (c)(4) applications to the IRS. In reality, there was a decrease, and as for targeting (what targeting?), well, you know the rest.

After spending more than a week trying to locate and read the putative presidential Executive Order on Immigration I am now sure that no such E.O. exists!
After failing to get responses from my various Congresscritters, the public library, and the New York Times….I finally put in a call to the Cato Institute where I was immediately connected to Mr. Alex Nowrasteh, the senior immigration policy analyst.
He explained that the Obamagration reform was not being implemented or even directed by Executive Order but rather through "Executive Action", with implementation accomplished by memoranda from Jeh Johnson, Homeland Security. Mr. Nowrasteh was kind enough to send me links to the memos implementing President Obama’s extralegal decrees.
My interpretation is that an E.O. is too transparent, to easily reversed though legislation, and too directly associable to President Obama so that an even less transparent means was used.
The links sent to me are quoted from the email sent by Mr. Nowrasteh and are quite terrifying.
The people have spoken and are being ignored by the leadership of both parties. I hope the new congress can act appropriately, but my expectations are very low.
