Interesting news for Hero. I'm not a fan of Tiger, but if you are looking to enter the U.S. market, this might be a good way to do it.

Tiger Woods is shifting to selling Indian-made motorcycles from Buicks.

Woods, 38, signed a four-year contract as an endorser for Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), India’s largest motorcycle maker. The company plans to enter the European market in 2015 and the U.S. by the following year, Chief Executive Officer Pawan Munjal has said.

At least the motorcycles will be a lot cooler/betterlooking than the Buick Rendezvous he was trying to sell.

I don't know, Gatorade reportedly paid Tiger Woods $100 million for his name back in 2008. Anybody here ever buy a bottle of TIGER? I bet Pepsi wishes they had that to do over.

I just can't think of a more irrelevant person to choose.

Paris Hilton has more street cred.

Hell, even the Bieber at least owns a bike.

Woods has fallen from both grace and the mainstream space. What, judjfbrhs bxjfkei okhbusa, dhurrr, I'm out of words....

Hey, at least his name recognition will work in Hero's favor, especially in international markets.

But, yeah, I'm gonna scratch my head a little about choosing him. Maybe he'll take an MSF course and follow Michael Jordan's lead.

Here is my take on this. If you haven't been to Flaw'da, you may not "get it". Every available space is crammed with "Golf Communities". Most of the peeps have golf carts that are used as "urban" transportation to the clubhouse, grocery, post office, etc.

They customize them and bling them out, but usually don't use them to actually play golf. They use carts at the course for that.

Hero has among other things, a rather neat hybrid scooter designed by EBR coming soon. Just the thing to sell to well heeled retirees. Much more handy than a golf cart, and takes up 1/4 the space.

I can't wait to see new EBR ads with Tiger Woods standing next to the bikes. Better yet, Tiger actually riding an EBR would be cool (after Tiger gets his M license). That would make excellent promotional material to expand brand awareness for EBR. If you are trying to market a motorcycle or scooter, Tiger Woods is definitely the guy you want to attach your brand to for the following reasons...

He is a golfer
He is black
He is bisexual

With Tiger Woods all the bases are covered. White people like him because he's a great golfer. Black people like him because he's black(ish). And everybody likes bisexuals!!! I can't wait for Erik Buell and Tiger Woods to get into bed with each other and really start promoting the brand of EBR! This is excellent news.

How do you know black people don't like him because he's a great golfer?

And the person claiming he's bi is trying to sell a tell-all book. So, I guess, consider the source.

Perhaps the Tiger endorsement has little to do with US marketing and more about the upper class India market.
