Akamai. You think you're connecting to your bank, but you're actually connecting to Akamai, a company that's being paid by your bank to host static content in a globally distributed environment. Akamai then makes another TLS connection to your bank to get the customer specific or dynamic content. Speed things up a lot. They are embedded in ISPs to provide ultra fast services to their client's customers. If I were NSA, I'd be in bed with Akamai, given that they're terminating all those TLS connections. It's the perfect place to harvest data, since Akamai is essentially performing a man in the middle attack on a whole lot of TLS traffic. | ||

Politically that's a good thing for the R's. Maybe. They made a grand gesture and made noises about the veto that would happen if it passed. You and I see Premier Obama far differently than his propaganda persona. He's got the malpractice media on his side. If he strangled Boehner on tv the buzz would be how evil Boehner was to force him to. I agree we need to make Obama OWN his policies but to make that work you have to have the cojones to go on the hostile news shows and be willing to be a pariah by telling the talking head host that the host is lying...... and make it stick. That pol's career will crash and burn. He will be seriously attacked. He has to accept that and tear down the false fronts as he goes. Think Sarah Palin with more testosterone. ( since she has more than most of the media that's going to take a Senator ( who can STAY in their face ) ) | ||

This is not all bad. The Senate is now on record for this vote and will have to answer to the voters. In January, Keystone will pass and then Obama will be on record too. This is just the beginning. Harry Reid will no longer be able to shield these bums including the pResident. The record will speak for itself and it will force Shrillary to state what she believes. Democrats are intentionally trying to destroy The United States of America and they must be removed. The only way for some of them to save themselves is to convert to the Republican Party or at least vote with the Republicans. The good news is that Landrieu is probably toast and we pick up the 54th seat. | ||

I just thought it would be nice for a change to be able to look at legislation that was passed and simply say "that was good for the nation". I guess that's a pipe dream. |
