OK, here's the story- I picked up a set of bullet-shaped LED license plate fasteners from my local Autozone, installed them on my Triumph, now the dang stores around here have completely turned over and changed their inventory- nobody can even find them by part# or UPC#, and they had JUST had them in inventory a couple of weeks before! These fasteners were cheep at $17.99 list price, but the thing I like best is that they flash-cycle fast 3 times when brake activated, then go steady red, nice and bright! They also have an integrated white reverse light function, not using that now but it might work if I wired that into the turnsignals... I'd recommend them to anyone wanting a decent set of auxillary brake lights- if I could ONLY find them again! They actually look pretty cool, match up pretty well with the plain bullet fasteners I'd already used. Given the super cheap price compared to say, Hyper-Lites or something, I couldn't pass them up. I need one more set to install on the old Beemer, and I'll be happy. Description as follows: "Pilot" brand LED safety strobe license plate fasteners, part number CZ-3099RW. UPC code numbers are 757558111633. I have even looked on Amazon, no dice, and emailed the manufacturer twice, no dice. If anyone here can find these, buy me a set and I'll make it worth your time. Dangit, but- maybe! The pictures show <exactly> what I've got, but the idiots selling them give about zero information. Any experience buying from this outfit, recon?! Thanks, good catch! Plus, I paid $7 plus tax instead of the shelf price, in hindsight maybe they were on clearance... | ||

Update- I generally prefer talking to someone the first time I do a CC order with a new company- neither phone was answered, so I sent an email to them and decided what the heck- went ahead and ordered the part online. About the time I was finishing my online purchase, I get a call from an unknown area code- I let it go to voicemail when that happens, don't answer when I don't recognize the incoming call- and it was a guy from that company, apologizing for missing the calls I made, trying to contact me! I called him back and told him I'd just ordered online- he confirmed the order. I mentioned that an online 10% coupon code didn't work, but given that it's only 70 cents, NBD- he said he'd be sure to go ahead and apply that discount himself. Had to compliment him on his very prompt and thorough customer service! Heck, I've yet to receive a reply from the manufacturer, and just by chance found his retail outfit. If anyone feels they could benefit from a set of these LED's I highly recommend them- give these guys some bidness! Thanks again TQ! | ||

RD, go ahead and set aside a half-hour or so, giterduun! I got my 2nd set installed on the Beemer yesterday, got rid of the school bus looking Hyperlite that the previous owner had on there, much better! Gonna get my errands done today on that bike before it rains, we've got mid-60's... woohoo! |
