There aren't words to express how much we appreciate everyone who has contributed money, offered up auction items or making bids to help support Glitch and Ann during this medical crisis. Just on donations alone without the auction, Badwebbers have raised just over $2,900! WooHoo!!!

They have a long road ahead of them and every dollar we raise will help reduce the stress on Ann. She will still have to take care of Glitch, the house and still try and work while getting him to and from follow-up appointments once he's home.

We never know how quickly things can go south just as it did in this situation, so make sure your loved ones know how you feel about them. The BadWeb family is second to none and always comes through when one of our own is in need.

Thanks again to everyone. I know Ann and Glitch appreciate all the efforts that have been made on their behalf. Though they have never asked for anything, Ann was very touched and amazed how Badwebbers have stepped up to help them.

Please continue to pray for Glitch and his recovery. Ann needs her soul mate to heal and come back to her. They just celebrated their 23rd anniversary this week. I think he's gonna owe her a really nice weekend away once he's back on his feet.

Buellish...he's in Emory Eastside.

Can someone make an auction post for me?

Brand new, never worn with tags Buell XL jacket.

Winner of auction to pay Ferris will cover the 10 bucks for shipping.

What's the name of the jacket? It's cut off on the tag in the last pic.

^ I own one of those jackets. Medium weight, nice silk-ish lining, great for fall, elastic cuffs, snaps up in front. It's a very nice jacket.

Ann posted a long update on Glitch last night; much of it's pretty personal, but here's the part on his condition:

quote:

Today was a "not so good" day. The doctors stopped the sedation and pain meds to get a neurological assessment. It's part of the weaning process to determine when they can remove his breathing tube. His nurse said "it was not a pretty scene." I think all those involved with eventually recover. Lol! I wasn't in the room to see it, thank goodness, but it sounds like it was quite the battle royale. So, they have him back under very deep sedation to keep him calm and resting. They'll try again tomorrow. Oh my.

Thanks Hugh...had computer issues at home last night and couldn't get this to load.

While Hugh is right that the rest of the post is more personal, I think it's worth the read. It shows why after 23 years they are still married and more than that, I'd say happily married. It's times like these that show what you and your marriage are made of. It's not always fun and easy, it's a lot of work sometimes, but if you're with the right person, it's so worth the effort and sometimes the fight.

From Ann:

Today was a "not so good" day. The doctors stopped the sedation and pain meds to get a neurological assessment. It's part of the weaning process to determine when they can remove his breathing tube. His nurse said "it was not a pretty scene." I think all those involved with eventually recover. Lol! I wasn't in the room to see it, thank goodness, but it sounds like it was quite the battle royale. So, they have him back under very deep sedation to keep him calm and resting. They'll try again tomorrow. Oh my.

I keep receiving all kinds of compliments and words of encouragement from folks for me. I'm humble, thankful, inspired and encouraged by them, but I'd like to think that I'm doing what any spouse/significant other/partner would do for the person they love. I'm not a Super Woman. I'm just a wife who loves her husband very much. There's been talk of "preparing myself for the limitations he may have", but I don't need to "prepare" - I just need him home. We'll figure the rest of it out as it comes, just like we always have.

Maybe wedding vows should be a bit more specific to give newly married couples a better idea of what they're getting themselves into. Instead of the whole "better or worse, richer or poorer, sickness and in health", blah, blah, smackity, smackity, they should just be real and to the point.

"Look - we love each other and we really love being together, so let's do this marriage thing. But let's do it for the long haul. The honeymoon stage is going to pass and once all that bliss wears off, we're still going to be married. There will be slamming doors. There might be broken dishes. You'll hurt my feelings and I'll hurt yours. Sometimes, Happy Anniversary will translate to "Ha! We made it another year without killing each other! High five!" We might be completely broke at times. We'll get mad at each other. We'll argue. We'll drive each other crazy. We'll make each other cry, but as long as we make each other laugh more, then it's all good. "Two shall become one" the bible says, indicating that this might be a painful process. Toilet seats will be left up and dirty clothes won't always make it into the hamper. There'll be times you have to hold my hair back while I puke. I'll bring you toilet paper when you get stranded because someone forgot to replace the roll AGAIN. I'll let you sleep for 15 minutes while I walk the floor with the crying baby in the middle of the night and then it'll be my turn to sleep for 15 before we trade off again. We'll have coffee in the evenings together and talk about our day; we'll look forward to milestones and make goals for the future. After a while we'll know what the other is thinking simply by our expressions or body language. We'll learn to finish each others sentences. If something happens to you, I'll take care of you. You do the same for me - deal? I'll always have your back, you'll always come first, and I'll always love you. I'll always protect you no matter how big the enemy. At the end of the day, if each of us knows and trusts in these simple things, then everything else will fall into place without even trying. Now, let's do this thing so we can go get a beer."

Kristi- glad you posted the whole thing. I don't really know Ann and wasn't comfortable with posting it myself. I've been married almost 34 years and I'm with her 100%. I had some serious surgery 13 years ago and Lord knows I was never happier to see my wife than when I woke up from that.

In just another day or 2, hopefully Glitch will be as happy as I was.

Had Ann sent that to me in a private email I wouldn't have posted it, but since she posted it on her FB page, I figured she wouldn't mind sharing with the BWB family.

Ann's words are so point on for anyone who's been married for a length of time. There is no one who can drive me crazier than Carlos, but no one that I love as deeply as I do him. He is the person that completes me and keeps me balanced. If you're lucky enough to find that one person in the world that does that for you, then count your lucky stars.

This is what marriage (not the piece of paper) is all about. Being there through thick and thin, good and bad and loving that person more today than yesterday.

I did good with Kim. 38 years in February. None of it easy, but she is the easiest decision I ever made and the best one.

Listening to Annie Lennox' "Medusa", last track is "Something So Right"- the CD is HIGHLY recommended. Relevant to the thread.

Thanks for posting Ann's words. Glitch is one of several I'm praying for and thinking of lately...

About 1:30ish yesterday, my 68 YO neighbor keeled over with a heart attack- my honey and I were the first to hear his wife screaming for help, first to run over- he's now in ICU while the docs keep his body temp low to help his brain recover, but if he has another heart attack, he's probably a goner. When they bring his body temp up this evening, that risk is elevated.

Saturday I traveled to Lebanon TN to attend the funeral of my mom's best friend- ended up serving as a pallbearer. My mom has been gone 6 years this month, kinda shook me up. My sis couldn't attend for several reasons, but in a way it's good she didn't- it'd have cracked her up too much.

Celebrate your loved ones every minute you can, find ways to be silly and laugh at every little thing. Time will get away from us.

I find that good, loud music on a dreary day helps quite a bit... we've got that cold front sitting on us now.

Keep the Glitch updates coming! Any day now my card will arrive!!

Update from Ann, posted to FB about 6 PM EST today:

quote:

~sigh~
Another "not so good" day.

So, we'll make it through Wednesday and then we'll tackle Thursday.
The doctor said today was not as bad as yesterday. Really? I was here for this one and it seemed pretty darn bad. Kind of glad I didn't see yesterday.

Shall we discuss his stubborness again? He didn't rest well all day yesterday - was fitful and agitated well into the night. After the "episode" this morning, they put him back under sedation and got him settled and calmed down again. About an hour later HE WOKE UP AGAIN!

Seriously dude?! Seriously?!

The determination was made that he has built up a tolerance to the previous "cocktail" so his meds were changed. His nurse called the pharmacy and said "I need the (whatever it's called) for Hare 268 STAT, as in yesterday!" Someone in this room was going down, and it wasn't gonna be him.

Quite frankly, he needs to just quit this nonsense and stop being a pain in the ass! (That's me being a smartass. I do that. Sometimes.)

As always, thank you one and all for everything! I'm praying hard today that the third time will be the charm and that tomorrow he will be off this stupid breathing tube so we can get to gettin'. Only God knows what is going on in his head when he comes around. I can't imagine the fear, agitation and disorientation he must be going through with it. Not to mention the pain. So I have to trust that God is gonna help him through it.
