Reep - Hey I'm matching Ferris's auction with a Remington 760/30.06 with scope. Second owner, always lovingly cared for and in excellent condition. Just sayin'. |

For those of you who weren't around for the Matt Ware auction in 2008 or the Rainey auction in 2011, here's the short and sweet of it: All auction items need to be posted in Quick Board. 1 - post your item (please put AUCTION in post title with your description). We will format and add info we need for tracking. 2 - include an ending date for your auction. All auctions will end at 11 p.m. eastern time. 3 - Once auction is over, I will notify the winner. They will provide payment and a mailing address via email. 4 - Once payment is received, I will notify seller of payment and item(s) can be shipped. |

Before I suggest this stuff as an auction, does anyone think any of these items would be worth adding to the list: http://www.fujix-forum.com/index.php/topic/31176-f s-usa-fsu-lenses/ They've been kicking around for a while and I finally decided to try selling them, but I doubt I'll get any takers over there because no one seems to want to buy from me over there. If anyone thinks there is value, send me a message and I'll either list them here or maybe box them up and send to someone that can get them sold. Just about all those lenses cost $30 to $40 in shipping to get to the USA, so the prices are actually cheap for something that's already had the goo cleaned from the inside and serviced. |

UPDATE FROM ANN!! Here's the daily update. Yes, I ate all day today and I'm home for the night. Dave is about the same. Still squirming, but they've figured out if they give him him "bonus dose" before messing with him he's much calmer. I met with the neurologist today and she explained a lot of what's going on in his head. She said hopefully by Monday or Tuesday we'll be able to start talking to him more and working on stimulating his brain. She even suggested bringing his MP3 player in and letting him listen to his favorite songs. She said his brain waves on the EEG are very good on the right side. The left side where the infection was/is are a bit weaker, but as the infection dies off, they will regain strength. She said "it's a good thing you and your friend brought him in on Monday. He probably wouldn't have had much longer if you hadn't." That's a lot to process. The neurosurgeon said they will do a cat scan every couple of days to monitor the infection. Dave opened his eyes and was trying to raise his arm when he heard Dr. Hartman talking. I'm telling you, that man is gonna have a lot to say to that doc once he's able. Dr. Hartman said his speech would be the last function he would regain. Of coure this also means swallowing, eating and drinking, but we'll just take it one day at a time. Love and thanks to all. I'm off to have some much needed quiet family time to recharge all our spirits. |

Is it possible to have the auction links stay at the top like some forums can do? I think it would be nice to have them all grouped at the top for the short time that they will be active. |

Yep, we'll keep a list at the top of the page, and add/modify them as necessary. So, what do YOU have to auction off? |

Yes, I know you have the list at the top of the page. I was talking about the individual threads when you view the Quick Board so that they will not get pushed down by other topics. Basically, just sticking it to the top. I just don't recall it being done around here, so I don't know if the software has it built in. |

Gotcha. I don't think we can "sticky" threads via the BWB software (which was barely state of the art in 1998 - like, that was SO last century), but me 'n Kristi will do it the way we always have: With virtual duct tape and zip-ties! (Message edited by fb1 on November 09, 2014) |

Kinda thought so, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Zip-ties and duct tape is great, but bailing wire is where it's at! |

Been out shopping today, so sorry for the delay in the update from Ann: Y'all - I've been with this guy for 23 years, but I didn't know just how stubborn he is and how much fight is in him. His white blood cell count is normal today. But, the neurosurgeon said that doesn't mean he's out of the woods yet with the infection. He's pleased with how well he's recovering so far. Some of the facial swelling has gone down. He's moving his right leg today, although not when they ask him to. That's ok - I'll take it! The doc said he's still got a long hard road ahead of him, but "baby steps are still steps", and the fact that he is so feisty shows his spirit is fighting just as hard as the antibiotics. He still continues to use his good arm to push the staff away when they come to mess with him and has no trouble trying to turn away from them. Even heavily sedated and in slow motion he can still kick some ass. Yep - that's my man! |

ANN'S UPDATE TODAY: The doctors have begun decreasing the sedation and pain meds. This is to try and assess neurological function, like if he'll respond to being talked to, follow commands of moving his body, and to let us know he's in pain, I.e., "raise your left hand if you're in pain.". They need to see how stable he will be without becoming too agitated and to watch for seizures. If he does well, they should be able to remove the breathing tube in 2-3 days. The breathing tube is not only to jeep him from choking since he couldn't swallow, but they're also able to give him stronger anti-seizure meds with it in if need be. He has been quite responsive this morning. That's very good, yet very bad. He's more aware of what's going on and his body is trying to do the natural thing and not have that tube down his throat. He's in there, but he's scared and uncertain and uncomfortable, thus becoming very agitated. They went ahead and increased everything back so as not to over stimulate his brain. He's resting very well now. I feel so bad for him. He's starting to move his right arm and hand. Clumsily, but it's moving, so that's good. I joked with the nurse that they need to watch out because he has another weapon. The infection culture did grow a specific infection. It is a strain of strep that has a name about 2 miles long. It is one of the strains that creates lots of puss. That's how it's able to multiply and travel, eating everything in it's path. At least now the demon has a name and an appropriate antibiotic cocktail can be prescribed to exorcise it. "Baby steps are still steps" Dr. Hartman said. But it's bittersweet seeing how upset he gets. Little Mr. Puss Filled Strep Pants needs to just quietly go away. He's done gone and pissed off the Glitch Beast. Rough times folks. Rough times. Send up some prayers for peace for him to help him not be so scared and to understand that all this is temporary. Love and thanks to all! Oh goodness! I forgot to post that he's gotten a chest xray every morning since Thursday and his lungs are clear. That's extra good news! They also did a cat scan this morning and I should have the results from that when Dr. Hartman makes rounds. (Message edited by ulywife on November 10, 2014) |
